Lakewood "Traction Action" Lift Bars
There have been a number of inquries on the Exhaust board under a different topic, "...and they said it couldn't be done....". So I'm redirecting to the proper board.
Here's one pic.

I also liked the RE 730's. Wet traction is not an issue here in southern Arizona. I paid $112 each through Tirerack. The reason why I took them off is kind of complicated. Suffice it to say, I sold my set to help a guy who didn't have the money for a new set, then turned around and bought a different brand. I ended up with Sumitomo's Ultra Z tire. They are P245-50/ZR16's with a "W" speed rating. I believe that's 168 mph, better than a "Z" rating!! And for $87 each and a tread pattern that I liked, I couldn't pass these up. So far, I can say they perform as well, if not better than the RE 730's.

Willie - are you using the stock LCA's? If so, did you have to weld anything to the LCA for the bar to bolt to? Did you have to weld anything to the rear? Also, do you feel that they are better than a Hotchkis or Randon Tech LCA? From the pics, I assume that the bar is pushing the LCA up, not the bottom of the floor pan. Am I correct? Please let me know, I really considering using the Lakewood stuff.
Thanks,

Mike - the Lakewood bars come with LCA's with polyurethane bushings. It's purely a bolt-on kit.
Did you have to weld anything to the rear?
No. Purely bolt-on. First, you install the LCA's. Second, the bracketry, which includes bolting the top section around the axle. Personally, I feel the top section should be bolted first, then welded. (I have not done this though.) Third, install the heim-jointed brace; I think it's called the "lift bar", then adjust the bar. That's it.
Also, do you feel that they are better than a Hotchkis or Randon Tech LCA?
Put it this way: Even without the bracketry or the "lift bar", you get a quality LCA with polyurethane bushings. Yes, if you ever want to remove the "lift bar" (for any reason), you can use the LCA's by themselves, just like any other aftermarket brand.

You are correct. I like the quality and design of these pieces. They also look trick.
