Fauken awsome interior

How many people have seen this interior in an IROC?

Bottom row when you look at the pics in thumbnail view!

It looks stock cept the painted center console. silver works good in that car. i think the blue i picked out may be too loud. have to test it out on a junk piece.

I'd lose the steering wheel cover, or at the very least straighten it up.

The silver looks good, but not something I'd do.

I have a couple of pics somewhere of a shifter plate and gauge frame that was for sale on ebay a while back that the seller claimed was a rare silver plated option in the mid 80's ('87?). Does anyone know if there is any truth to that or if it is bs?
It was stated that the silver was not paint, but some sort of plate/overlay.

Edit:
I actually still had the ebay auction bookmarked, here goes:

It is either a dealer installed item or aftermarket, kinda like those cheesy fake wood panels you can get for our cars. I have checked through my books on this and there was never any kind of silver trim option available for our interiors. If it is factory or he thinks it is, I would like to know a list of his RPO codes. I dont mean to start a war here but if this is truly a factory item, it is not documented anywhere and it would be interesting to know if any other cars where like this.

Take a look at the ebay auction I posted above. The pieces look exactly the same.

So, at least that is one of two.

85wilrocu,
Try to contact that ebay seller and see if he has any info on it.

It is more fun to prove it. I just don't see proof yet. I'll eat crow as soon as somebody shows me proof. We have a bunch of RPO codes that nobody can verify, and an ebay auction. *twirls finger*

I'm gonna go buy some krylon and start making some ultra-rare OEM painted pieces.

B2G, never heard of it, make sure it is not BG2. BG2 = 350 L98 V8. Z06, I doubt this is a valid F-body code, However, a Corvette comes to mind.

This is stupid, of course there were never any brushed aluminum trim options! The only way that would happen was if the new kids on the block were VP's of Fisher. lol
It IS an aluminum brushed trim kit just like those wood kits, sorry ChevyKen, I've been around long enough to know exactly what that is. When I first got my 86 I had actually researched it and yes...I was somewhat of a pre/domestic(rice)boy for about 6 months...then I got a speed itch .
Seriously, those kits are availible but I think the guys that made the brushed aluminum went out of buisness because it was either that or the brushed for the 90-92 that they didn't have in stock and weren't making anymore because of little to no demand.
I think I should try and convince people that my z28 spoiler cam with the car from the factory , I bet I could fool 99.95% of the population if not more but the elite (thirdgen members) won't swallow such unadulterated
I do think the interior looks nice, not great, it's one of those things that just contrasts too much because there is either not enough or too much. It needs more parts to be brushed aluminum like the STEERING WHEEL. That's a stock f-bird steering wheel with one of those Autozone/Carparts covers on it...yack, cough, vomit but hey, if it floats with the rest of the world I can swallow and leave it be.

So is this what the aluminum is called;

YT9 : OPTION PACKAGE, FISHER FURNISHED PARTS

Oh and buy the way, the steering wheel "once again" is orignal.
Not firebird

No need to be sorry JPrevost, I didn't claim that this was an original option - only that I have seen the same thing for sale as a "rare option" recently. I don't know if this was aftermarket or an option - but I admit that I don't know. The general attitude is usually that whatever isn't in the White Book is BS - and I choose to believe that that not necessarily is the case.

Either way - I really don't care so lets call it an AutoZone upgrade and forget about it.

BG2 is another unknown code, i believe the code you were reffering to is B2L, which is just another code for L98.

Original makes things worth more. I'd rather have an original 70 Yenko Nova than a repo, same with an original firehawk...so it's rather important in my eyes. I hate bastards trying to make money off of a cheap *** part by calling it "original" when it's just crap.
Heck, these cars are OLD which means LOTS of owners...who says previous owners never did anything to their cars? I doubt in 94 that everybody was on the internet!!! and I'll bet money that people were painting/making interior parts for thirdgens considering they would be nearly 12 years old!
Sorry, but considering this is the first time I've ever heard of this I'm calling it . Oh yeah, and that is a firebird steering wheel, not an original camaro wheel.
A wise man (and grumpy ) once said, "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and swims like a duck, it's probably a duck. Why do you need it to quack?"

I can't belive that you insist that it is a firebird steering wheel!I don't know what happens to the 3rd gens on there way out there to ohio, but here in VAN NUYS, thats the way most of the camaro steering wheels look around here! I've Been around alot of 3rd gens, now for some odd reason they all have the same steering wheel! Go figure

That *is* a stock Camaro steering wheel (which, by the way, is a valid "interior" part).

Well I tried to edit my post but the funniest thing happened....the server was on and off last night for about what? ALL DAY. Go figure, so yes, I was wrong, it is a camaro wheel. I'm just so used to seeing the other 3 spoke. What were the years for that POS anyways? Was it 82-85?

The brushed aluminum looks OK... there's not enough of it though. Whoever put that AFTERMARKET KIT on didn't put the whole thing on. I've seen them on numerous web sites, I was actually looking for one a while ago, there's supposed to be pieces that go on where the defogger/cig lighter is, and where the headlight/foglight switches are. And it IS an aftermarket kit, don't believe me? Go try finding a GM part number for brushed aluminum Camaro interior pieces... I'll give you a little help, you won't find them.

EDIT: That Fisher RPO you can't figure out is probably either the T-Tops, or the CAMARO interior

Dunno, but I agree that it's a POS. My 86 had one. I put the wheel from my 89 on it. It's the one with the square button, ugly as sin, but better than the original.

I think he means 'GTS'. The 'S' in their logo looks kinda like an 'O'.

The colored interior panels were not a factory option. If anyone can prove me wrong, I'll eat my alternator!

I'm not exactly sure what the YT9 code is but I know that it is not the aluminum trim plates. My car has this RPO code as well & I have no aluminum in my interior.

I do however like the look, and will try to imitate the look with paint..... If I later decide I dont like it, the parts are easily replaced
