Has anyone ever seen a T-Top made into a targa ( similar to that of the C4 vettes ) . For those of you who don't know what a Targa is, its simiar to a T-Top but instead an entire portion of the roof comes off. I always thought it would look smooth, and although i've seen a photoshop'd picture, I just wonder if anyone creates such a beast. ( I can imagine that it must all but destroy structural integrity, yet im sure theirs some way of doing it ) .

 

On the old TV show "Simon and Simon", they used to have one.

The targa top was black when it was on the car.

It looked pretty cool.

Know where I can find any pics of it? I might just become inventive this summer and turn a V6 RS coupe into a Targa ( or V6 RS T-Top if I find one cheap ) . Im inclined to believe that somehow if I were to study a 3rd gen drop top, I could find a way to reinforce the body and windshield.

 

well if you do a search there was a couple of long post about this a while back. People were going back and fourth with the idea.

 

Our vette is a targa.. Its nice. It would be kinda tough to do but I imagine if someone is good enough at fabricating they could pull it off.

Structurally, I'd put SFC's in first..
