Questions for tranny adjustment
Questions for tranny adjustment
I just swaped a new intake on my 305 TBI,
now the TB unit sits a little bit more forward than before,
I had to elongate my throttle cable so that I have a real WOT,
Should I elongate my TV cable too or just adjust it?
I thought that with a more forward set up, the old set up that was perfect wouldn't be good so I did a little bracket to elongate it just to try but now it shifts very late.
Was this elongation unnecessary?
What sould I do?
Thanks for your answers,
Jacques.

I don't want to state the obvious... but the kick-down is very adjustible. I've use different TBI's and spacers and have had to fiddle with the kick-down to get my firm (read "neck-breaking") shifts back. There is a little button inbourd on the kick-down linkage where it passes through the bracket. If you push the button in (it can be very hard) you can adjust the so-called self adjusting kick-down in and out for firmer and looser shifts. Beware: sometimes the kick-down will readjust on its own and the loose shifts will sneak up on you agian.
