Unicorn Tail Lights ????

I have a 86 Iroc Z-28 Camaro and I seen a 89? Camaro this weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise who had red and clear tail lights. Just like mine with the orange and the red and the clear but he didn't have orange just red and clear. Does anyone know what year Camaro got these and where I could get a set. I don't like the orange. I don't have any orange on my car.

So I can get Red Tail light paint and paint them? Okay. I thought a certain year had them, Thanks for the pic. I'm not into imports but my car is red and black I have removed all orange from the fender sidemarkers and the front turn signals I dont like the tail lights cause of the clash of orange. But if I can get some paint and paint them that's cool with me, saved me from having to sell mine and buy new ones.. Thanks

I just took apart my bird's tailights and converted the amber to red, 2 nights ago. I used VHT Transparent red metal tint. It worked great. You can't tell the lenses were ever amber. I tries to use testers candy apple red paint it it comes out to cloudy. Had some broken lights to test paint on. Also when I tested i did one where I sprayed the outside of teh lens and one where I sprayed teh inside by dismantling the light. The paint does not coat very well on teh outside and it is prone to scratch. You can tell its painted because it gives the smooth plastic a texture. I would recommend getting the VHT and spraying ob the backside of teh amber section. Though I don't know much about the disassembly of camaro lights.

I will post some pics soon in a new thread.

I only painted the amber section. I had to pull off the lens from the back section to do it. I lightly painted the amber till it looked just like the red part of the lens. It took a few layers. I had to let it sit for a bit b/w coats. It sprays a touch clouded, but comes out transparent when it dries. You have to go slowly because it is textured on the back and too heavy will give you runs which will fill the low spots and you will end up with uneven color. Amazingly you CAN NOT tell the difference b/w what I sprayed and what came that way.

Now the black section of my tailights is painted body color. That's part of the reason I did not want to spray on the outside.

You would paint on the inside of the light so that you can polish the out side plastic to look real good.
