Turbo made into an SC?
I searched for this, but never found anything. I am sure it has been asked before, but I was finding nothing.
On the v6 board there talking alot of turbo and Supercharging again. I've been reading, not really too concerned when I saw an idea and thought I would ask you guys if it was possible.
Can you take a turbo, and make it run as a Supercharger?
I am talking add a pulley to the turbo so it runs off the crank rather then the exhaust?
Someone else had this idea, but I was wondering is it possible to even do?

thats a new one on me, maybe you could market something like that. people would probably pay $3000-$4000 dollars for a kit that they could bolt onto thier car.

Biggest problem is getting the rpm of the turbo up enuf to generate boost. Most SC's other than roots style have a gear multiplication to get the shaft spinning with the required rpm.

cobbled comes to mind, interesting routing. vortech and procharger need to learn a lesson here in fresh air routing, kudos to paxton for its 3rd gen fresh air routing as well as those guys that made thier own little fresh air boxes that sit on top.

Found another picture that shows the supercharger.

These are both old pictures. I think that he is using fourth or fifth version of the supercharger now. The air routing is basically the same, but less rubber hoses and welded pipes instead.

Thanks JoBy.
The Pictures are a great help.
Those pics will help me in my conquest for the Trubo -- SC conversion which probably won't be happening till next summer. But Atleast I have a bit better Idea on how to build the system.
There is only one thing Joby. Is his SC hooked to the crank I can not seem to locate the belt or is it hooked to the Wheelchair motor?

You can see the pulley and belt between the supercharger outlet and the radiator cap.
I must warn you. This is not something that is easy to do. My fried has put a lot of hours into this during the last four years. Presision, strength and balance are critical to make the supercharger last.
I changed bearings in my 10 year old Vortech supercharger.
