Blowing out the spark?

I was running 6 psi boost. I changed the pulley on my supercharger and now get 10 psi boost. When I get to about 4800 - 5000 RPMs, the car starts breaking up real bad and blows black smoke out the tailpipes. Does this sound like symptoms of the spark being blown out? I pulled the plugs and they look good. Not wet or heavily carboned, just a nice tan and grey. I did realize though that when I went from the stock R45TS to the R44TS plugs, the gap is now .045 instead of .035. Could the extra .010 gap be causing me to not ignite at my peak boost conditions? This is what I'm leaning towrds, but I just wanted to know if anyone has actually encountered problems with the spark being blown out, and if these symptoms match.

bc the plugs are still tan and grey, i think they're probably not being blown out. it's just that with the combination of extra high gapped plugs and extra boost and fuel it seems like you're just not fully combusting the excess fuel. i'd say either drop the gap by buying new plugs or upgrade your ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, and go to 8.8mm wires. hope this solves it for you
