Whats that nosie part 2
Ok, I installed my motor mount, tranny place installed new tranny mount. I have not checked that bracket that the thing next to the drive shaft connects to. Nor have I checked the drive shaft or any joints in the rear end. Now the noise seems to be coming from middle of car. it also now makes the (clunk) noise later then it use to. And now after motor mount the car wiggles like an old v8 when you romp it in park. And now I can do some hella
Opps
. Dunno if thats the new motor mount, the accell coil, accell wires, or that damn new tire I had to get
. Please let me know how to check that mount for that bar, and any other ideas again. Thanks to those who posted last time and this time. :hail:

you mean "pinion angle" not sure, that would depend on that bar that runs next to the drive shaft right?? I don't talk to the guy anymore that use to check mine on my show truck. So I have no way to find that out anymore.

Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
yeah different name, same angle
also make sure your driveshaft is balanced.......but that would be more of a vibration than anything else

How do I check the braket for that arm that bolts to the axle, and runs along the drive shaft?

You mean the torque arm? That's the one that runs next to the driveshaft, and bolts to the axle with 2 long bolts. The rubber inside the mount at the tailshaft of the trans can deteriorate and fall out... I'd imagine you could check it by trying to move the end of the torque arm up and down. Either way, think about spending $25 for the Energy Suspension polyurethane torque arm bushing! I put that in when I swapped my last trans, and it really firmed up the back of the car around turns! It even made the car feel more sturdy as I went straight!

Ok, I got under and looked at stuff. I am thinking now it is the catalitic converter hitting the floor. Two reasons. One, the flat bar that the tranny mounts to, twist under movement. Who is the $^^$%## that designed that :nono: I am a draftsman, and I would have told my engineer to kiss my A$$ that part is designed wrong. Two, the cat bracket is mounted to the tranny, their for, tranny moves, so does cat, and the rubber on that is dry rotted. I checked the u-joints, good, checked tourqe arm bar, it sweaks but seems tight. So, is their a year car/place I can get a real horizontal bar?? And I am thinking of that poly mount tomp quoted. He said it lowers tail shaft some, then bend that damn cat bracket. And anyplace I can get that bracket new?? Any other ideas??
