Jet-Hot coatings for headers

Inquired about getting the C_H_D brand headers coated to last extra long. here's the reply:

Nate,

It would run $179 to coat your parts inside & out with our Sterling finish.
That price includes all necessary cleaning as well, unless they are chrome
or nickel plated. We’ll need them here for about 5 days plus shipping time.
Return shipping would be $18.

I will send you our full information package to get you all the coating
benefits in greater detail. It will not turn colors like chrome or
stainless. Also it lowers under-hood temperatures by 40 degrees, keeps the
pipes 25% cooler and gets you 1-3% extra horsepower. Of course, it's highly
rust resistant as well - 140x better than paint. Because of that we expect
it to increase part life be 10x or more.

All parts receive a 3 year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping,
peeling, cracking, discoloration, rusting - anything. New parts also get a
lifetime rust through warranty as well.

Please ship your parts to:

Jet Hot Coatings
5602 Orchard Rd
Pascagoula MS 39581

Just be sure to include your name and return info so we know who they belong
to and specify the finish of your choice. As for billing, you can either
include a credit card number with the parts or you can call one in to the
phone number listed below.

Thanks

seems like to me like a good investment on an item that currently few people have.

I just thought I would say that my headers are beautiful, and when the paint came off on my hands, it made me love them even more.

I'm sure their is an O2 sensor hole, but I don't see it. Thanks for the tip on having them jet coated, mine on the s10 look like *** and keep "burning". However, that is alot of cash.

Actually I posted along time ago about the paint. Untill it gets to 650 for 45 minutes, it will remain uncured.

And the O2 Sensor is in the Y Pipe, not the headers.

1st off

CHC these things are great!!!!

Thank you for all your hard work :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

on saturday my uncle was admiring them
he found a few small air leaks (THAT HE FIXED IN LIKE 5 MIN )
but other then that he loved them and started asking me all sorts of questions about you and your comp........

ok so now i need to repaint them.

what kind of paint did you use?

and after that all i need to do is bake then at or above 650 for a hour????

What would be the benifit of this?????

i mean it would not be that hard at all
we have several high temp ovens here at work
so would i really be worth it?????

oven bake them to keep the paint from coming off in your hand. sort of like home-made powder coating.

I must say that I am also very pleased with my purchase from CHC. They came in the mail late last week and I almost wet myself. My dad took a close inpection of them and said they work was done very well. My dad said there were a few leaks as well, but he can fix those himself and then we are going to metalize them and then plan out the installation. We believe the hardest part is going to be the fabrication of the Y-pipe. But before I take care of the headers I've got a minor transmission problem on my hands, but soon enough hopefully!

Only thing that bugs me is the fact that they've gotta be shipped out... get some high $$ insurance on 'em!! If they were run-of-the-mill v8 headers, no problem, you can always buy another set if they get lost in the mail. But for rare v6 headers....

Also, you might want to get flanges welded on to the headers before you get them coated. That way, they can coat the flanges, too. I'm sure if you paid 'em extra, they'd coat the y-pipe, too.

When I ship them out I put on $175 insurance.

I try my best to find any small holes before I ship them, but that is literally trying to find any light shining through. And sometimes my eyes just doesn't see it after welding for so long.

Man, I don't know what I'm doing about anything.

My fuel pump crapped out and I just got a new car...don't know what I'm doing with the Camaro.

I want to gut it and make it a (slow) race car. I don't have the money to keep fixing things, so why not take out all the stuff I don't need that'll probably just break anyway?

But it doesn't look like any work will be done on it until after next semester starts and I get books and parking and all paid for.

BTW, I bought a 98 Z24 5spd, and it blows the pants off my Camaro.

I think I'll have that same feeling when I get the bird on the road, & compare it to the GP

I must say, this Z24 is a nice little car. I had to learn how to drive a manual in 3 hours so I could take it to school the next day. Too bad Camaros don't weigh 27 lbs like this car does...

I still haven't decided what to do with the Camaro....who thinks I should make it a race car?
