I found the best way to remove the speedo needle and keep it properly aligned.

For those of you that tried the DIY whiteface gauges and borke their needle/has a speedo off by 5-10mph, and so forth heres teh best way to do it.

1. remove the entire cluster. all the torque bit screws and little bolts and they two retaining bolts inside of the cluster near the seatbelt and code 19 lights.

2. remove the speedometer cable.

3 pull cluster out and remove the two screws holding the speedometer in and the one screw holding in the speedometer lights.

4. look at the back of the speedometer and you will see a small black circular part that spins around in sa circle when you spin the needle. mark on it with chalk/pencil parrallel to where the needle is

5. to remove needle without breaking it hold the needle and spin the black circular piece until needle is loose enough to pull off gently.

6. place white face gauges on and put the needle on in position to your line marked on the round black circular piece.

that was the best/easiest/and safest(in reguards to breakign the needle) to do this.
