I spent the last two day working on the left rear.
I am lazy about getting pic but once I get going and am covered in
bondo dust, pics are not important.

I am only doing the back half of the car for now.
Doors and fenders might just get replaced but like my floor and interior
project.
I am taking care of the not so easily replaced parts now and before
its to late..
I may even paint just the back half when I am done. It will at least
look halfway nice.
I started on the left rear as i was the worst of it all. Had
to work in some metal and had some holes to fix/bondo.
Lots and lots of sanding between coats. almost 2 big tubes of spot
and glaze putty getting it baby butt smooth.
I still have some work to do by the door.

GOt real lucky on the right rear as it is all just surface rust.
I sanded and painted it with spray can stuff a few years back and it
is now flaking off.
I may find some small holes once I start blasting.

I just can't stop playing. Looks likes the death ghost image of the
rust monster in my sanding.

looking good, Very smooth.
I just hope that you didnt put too much Bondo on there. If Bondo gets too thick, it will eventually just basically fall off in big chunks, which really sucks.

I got a good example of that on the left door. Looks like someone [a woman] went through a drive through and rubbed the door on one of them yellow poles. You cant really see it but with the flaking bondo you can see the "waves" in the metal the pole did while rubbing. It look to have a whole small can of bondo on it.

Did you spray some kind of rust-killer on the rust? If you just sand it off, it'll come back... trust me... I did the same, just sanded it away, made it all shiny, and figured that I removed all the rust. A few years later ...

Tom,
I have been sand blasting everything down to bare metal and beyond and used some CC prep and paint. I got one of the handy dandy spot blasters that hold a few cup of sand. Made sure and went around each spot and chased down any rust that had not come through the paint yet.
I really can't afford to blast the whole car but I would like to. Not sure how I will "sand" the rest of the car to rough it up. I hear beach sand is bad and good blasting sand is $30-40 for a 5 gallon bucket that does not last very long when your losing it everywhere.
