Blue's Got A New Pair Of Shoes

I know I haven't posted on this forum for a while, but really haven't had much to report lately, and I've been really busy with work. I have installed my new 20" IROC wheels in back with Kumho Supra 712 255/35-ZR20 tires, and 18" IROC wheels in front with 225/40-ZR18's. Lowering comes courtesy of Ground Control's Adjustable Height Weight Jacks with Eibach 700# springs in front, and stock WS6 springs in back. For a minor touch I added blue bowtie on white valve stem caps.

Other recent mods include clear side marker lamps, cargo cover, and carpeted rear panels. Items I've bought and am soon to be installing include a set of Indiglo 145mph white face gauge faces and Delco Bose stereo system.

If you haven't been to my website before, you might give it a look. For those of you who have, I haven't really done anything to it lately to make a trip worth your while.

but that stance is killer bud, i'm glad the GC kit worked out for you, did you trim the ws6 springs at all? and are you thinking of doing the spring perces in the rear.

Wow! The rims are a little too big for my tastes, but those pics look awesome. They could be on a poster or something.

Thanks Jeff, I always value your opinion. The front springs are 700 pounds in order to keep the car from bottoming out all the time. Very stiff. Weight Jacks are what NASCAR racers use to adjust the height of their cars. Instead of cutting and shortening the springs, you preload the springs instead by inserting a 1/2" extension from underneath and turning until you get the height you want. http://www.ground-control.com is their website for anyone interested in their stuff.

you really have to see it in person, as gay as the exaust looks in some pictures, when you are standing next to the car, they look like they were meant to go there.

I bet you get a sore back after driving that mean machine. 700 lbs is really stiff. I really like the look of your car. Great job!

Well Im gonna go out on a limb and say I don't think I would ever like those exhaust tips; regardless of where I was standing. I dont like the rims either, too big for me by far. Not really liking the hood either. Overall the car does looks clean though.

Sharp car man, looks great. do the muffler tips have caps on them? cant really make it out but looks like something is there covering the hole, what are those for? also how does the 20in rim affect 1/4 time and handling of the car?

They are Supertrapp mufflers, polished stainless. Supertrapps are racing mufflers that use diffuser discs to add/subtract backpressure (which also increases/decreases exhaust loudness) depending on how many you put on. Completely tuneable.

I've had them on there since '92, and while I like them (especially the tone), I know that they don't photograph well. In actuallity they tuck in under the bumper to be almost unnoticeable unless you are directly behind the car, and so I will be replacing them with a more conventional exhaust when I do the engine swap.

Haha - haven't seen you post in a while. Well, I can see I disliked the wrong car
My car hasn't won any awards (I have never taken it to a car show) and it has never been in a music video (I can't understand why not though lol). It is a clean car. Those facts aside though, I still think that the hood looks bad, the wheels look bad, and the exhaust looks bad. Why's there a problem with that?

Nothing is wrong with you having your opinion. I welcome it. Besides, I wouldn't have expected you to like it anyways, knowing how you normally post in peoples threads. I do find it quite funny that you would diss my cowl hood when you have one that for all practical purposes is not really all that different sitting on your car though

Yeah ok...
If I like something I will post, and say I like it. I like my hood way better then yours. Sorry if you don't care for my opinion, but its definately not going to change. FWIW, I don't like how your hood ends and it seems to be angled up. I like when the end level with the car. I don't know how well I just described what I liked but

You really shouldn't be pissed everybody doesn't love your car. I know everybody doesn't love mine, and I'm alright...

what makes lance's car more unique is there's not many of those hoods in existence.....

i like how it looks, didn't like the 20's in the rear initially, but then i saw that photo of the backside.

to really show everything off, you should probably do a big brake install on all four corners.

See, this is where I'm different then a lot of people on this board: I don't like something because it's unique or rare. I like it if I like the way it looks. Period. It doesn't matter if there are 5 million other ones exaclty like it, if it looks good then it looks good. And if it looks bad, it doesnt matter if it is rare or unique, I still think it looks bad.

I love the paint and the stance to death but the 20's are just way too big and the exhaust tips are plain fugly I think chromed 17's or 18's would have looke way better I defantly agree with the more conventional exhuast setup when You swap motors.
What engine are you gonna be puting in?

Geez, I hope the Cascade Crew doesnt jump on me too for not fully liking everything on the car

cool

I like the car. But, for me, 2 inch wheel diameter difference is too much. My buddy has a '66 riviera with 20/22 inch combo. Does look wrong as well. But, as far as i konw, the rims are not offered in 19 inch. 19/20 inch would be perfect.
Is the rear wheel 8 inch wide?

hey now, only a couple of people from the crew even replied to this thread.... and people who see blue, either love it or hate it, so we all know that, and lance knows, that not everyone will like his car.

I love blue, dont get me wrong there. Just the exhuast and rims are what I dont like all that much. Lance says hes gonna change the exhaust setup to a more conventional system when he swaps motors which is a good imporvement

I'm certainly not pissed, I'm in fact quite fine with the fact that not everyone likes my car, including you. In fact one of the reasons I chose the 20"/18" combo was because I knew it was pushing the envelope (plus I really like them, I've wanted to do big & littles for a long time, etc).

Wow, it's really getting hard to have an opinion unless its, "OMG I could masterbate to that!!!"
I don't think thats true. I see plenty of opinions both ways on every subject there is here on TGO. Its not what you say, its how you say it, and how often. If you hadn't of bothered dragging Joe or Aaron's posts back up (no matter how much right you had to do so), I would never have responded to your opinions in the first place.

No, the 20s are 9 inches, the 18s are 8 inches. I did find 18x8.5 and 20x8 from different manufacturers, as well as 23x9 and 22x9.

Come on, relax guys. You're arguing over opinions. That shouldn't even be possible.

I don't wanna get involved, but just let it rest. I don't think people come here to read bickering, but good quality chatting.

502 hp 502. I had a 440 hp version which I sold so I can get the aluminum head version, mainly for weight savings. I have most of the install parts and lots of pretty chrome and polished aluminum. If work picks up next year, maybe I will be able to save up the difference and purchase the engine next year. I'm not really in a huge hurry, I've owned the car 17 years, I can wait awhile longer if necessary in order to do things exactly the way I want them. I am definately going to be installing a 12 bolt next year (4.11 gears) along with big discs all around.

I seriously love your car. You ever thought about an aluminum grill or something? Might just be me, but it'd match the wheels perfectly. It's not bad how you have it now, don't get me wrong! Just thinkin' and typing here.
