What Strut Tower Brace is this?

I got this strut tower brace from a guy and he wasn't sure what brand it was. I have never seen it before but I really like the way that it bolts right to the strut plates as opposed to drilling holes in the car. Anyone know who makes it?

Oh and please don't bash the blue. It was on the car when I bought it and I have been slowly getting rid of it piece by piece...but I have gotten enough crap about it already.

I've never seen that one either... does it look like it could have been homemade?

I'm gonna move this to the Suspension board, maybe someone there might know.

Haven't seen one like that before... Can't see a commercial piece having an odd and unnecessary bend on one side like that.. I'd say home-made (and not too good of a job?)..

The bend is necessary to clear the A/C line when bolting to the strut plate bolts. Other STB's don't need it because the mounting location is about 2" farther forward on the top of the strut tower itself.

I don't know who makes it though.

It may have been home made, but if it was the person was an excellent welder and had access to pipe bending tools because it definitly wasn't hammered to shape and the welds look perfect. Did Herb Adams ever make strut tower braces for your cars? The guy had some other parts( LCAs and Panhards) that were made by him.

I'm not too thrilled about the fact that it uses the strut mount bolts to secure it. A STB really should have its own bolts and not sit directly on the struts themselves. It's possible to bump one wheel out of alignment that way. I'm not saying it will probably happen, because it's unlikely, but if those bolts aren't tight enough, it could happen.

How would using the strut mount bolts to secure the STB mess up your alignment?? I mean if everythings good and tight whats the big problem?

It isn't a problem if everything is tight...I use lock washers on mine.
