Moser 9" and Dennys DS for sale....
Hey all, i thought i had the 86 sold, rear end and all, but it's now been a month and haven't been able to get ahold of the buyer, nor has he given me a deposit on the car, so instead i'm selling the rear, keeping the car. That said:
Moser 9" set up for thirdgen camaro. Has iron caliper rear disc setup on it now (included). 31 spline axles, detriot locker (the noisy "click" type) iron center section with aluminum pinion support, has rear cross brace welded on. The torque arm bracket is the older style made by moser, and you will need and adj. torque arm to correct your pinion angle with this rear. Its about 4 years old, it does whine a bit (sounds like a richmond gear whine). I'm now sure what brand the ring and pinion is, never been inside the rear before.
Included with it will be a Denny's Nitrous ready driveshaft thats damn near brand new, billet front yoke, 1350 u joints, the works. this is a 375 dollar driveshaft.
Also included is a Spohn swaybar mount kit for the rear that i never installed.
I'm looking to get 1100 firm for the rear. This is a hell of a deal guys. I won't ship it unless i absolutely have to, and i'm willing to drive a reasonable distance to deliver.
Located just outside Dover, in Magnolia, DE 19962.
EDIT: has one broken wheel stud on the driverside, 5~ bucks from summit.

Im interested but how noisy is "noisy" like can you hear loud cliking over the exhaust, is the cliking the same all the time or does it get louder at different driving speeds, are all detroit lockers noisy??? why do you think the gears are whining and whats the gear ratio in it now??? does it have EVERYTHING I need to convert from drums to disc brakes set-up??? Will I be able to use my current (drums) emergency brake set-up???

The click is only audible at idle, going around a tight low speed turn.
The whine is good ole fashion gear whine i imagine, never have had a problem with it.

3.89 gears, can't believe i forgot to mention that
I really don't want to ship this thing, but it looks like i'm gonna have to. Figure on spending about 150 bucks to ship it.

Damn that is an INSANE deal... I cant believe noone has jumped on this yet. If I didnt already have the same Moser housing and axels, Id buy that off you in a heartbeat!
If you would consider selling the drive shaft seperate, let me know!
I also noticed you said "the torque arm mount is the older style made by Moser". I got my housing without the torque arm mount(guy had lost it) so I need to get one... when you say old style, do they have a newer style one? Just curious because I havent called Moser yet to order the part. If you want to sell me just the torque arm mount that would rock too (but I wouldnt expect you to)

Oh yeah, as for the tq arm mount. Moser started making a new one that is one nice smooth piece, as opposed to the welded mess you see there. No difference in functionality that i know of, just looks a bit better, and is probably a pound or two lighter.

I just wondered into this thread, read the date it started, and think its B.S. I have read of many people that wants to purchase this rearend. If it is sold than the person advertising it should say sold. i have only sold 1 out of 7 items I had for sale on this website. after over 6 weeks and no offers on a dual snorkel l69 set up( for a very reasonable price) I decided to hang it on my wall.
