Crashed my 87 IROC last night in the front. Frame is bent so I'm parting out the rest of it. I want to sell the engine and the tranny together. Here's what the car has that is usable, along with any interior/exterior pieces not including front fenders, hood, windshield, bumper. Engine and clutch have about a thousand miles on them. Tranny has 50K. The engine kept running after the crash, and I started it up this morning to move the car in the driveway. The engine and tranny were removed today.

350 bored .030 over 4-bolt main
ARP Rod Bolts
093 casting heads with portwork and bowljob done. Manley swirl-polished 2.02 intake/1.60 exhaust valves. Screw-in studs, machined for more lift.

T5 5-speed Transmission
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch and Flywheel (the flywheel is junk, the starter grinds on the teeth really bad when you crank it, but it still works.)
ONE DAY OLD clutch hydraulic assembly (master/slave/reservoir/line). I installed it on Friday and crashed saturday. It felt sweet for a day though.
B&M Ripper Short Throw Shifter

I'll sell the complete engine, tranny, clutch, shifter, alternator with about 100 miles on it, water pump with less than 1000 miles, power steering pump, smog pump, headers with y-pipe, ECM and PROM for $1500. If you want the wideband setup too, $1800.

4th Gen Rear end posi 3.42 pads and rotors have less than 500 miles on them $200

IROC rims with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires less than 800 miles on the tires. Missing two centercaps on the rims, but other than that they are in good condition. $400

I also have the old LB9 305 shortblock with 48K on it. Cylinder walls look very good. It has the L98 cam since it had the 5-speed. $50

081 Casting 305 TPI heads. No portwork done, perfect to make really cheap performance heads if you port them yourself. $50

Stock TPI centerbolt valve covers. Decent condition. $20 plus shipping.

Stock TPI runners. $15 plus shipping.

I also have a brand new in the box set Comp Cams Magnum Lifters and 7812 hardened pushrods if anyone is interested.



On all the big stuff I would prefer it to be picked up, but if you really want it shipped I guess I could try, I don't even know who to call to try to ship an engine or anything. olong_us- I'll try to get some sort of shipping price for you tomorrow, it's probably gonna be pretty expensive.

cronsformula- Right now the interior and wiring harness are probably the last things that I will get to taking out of the car. What parts of the interior do you want? I do have TPI fuel rails with all new o-rings and the hard lines that connect to the factory rubber lines near the master cylinder. $40 plus shipping on those. Motor and tranny I want $1500 just to get it off my hands, if I had to separate it would be probably $1100 and $500 or so.

Slinkoguy- It's highly doubtful that I'll end up parting the motor itself. So probably no go on the HSR

I've also got 6 month old Energy Suspension poly motor mounts. They go for like 25 each, I'll sell my pair for $35 plus shipping.

 

Just to add, the connecting rods were brand new shot peened GM rods and the engine never burned any oil, no leaks, 30 psi oil pressure at idle, near 60 while driving. Engine pulled hard to about 6K, hard to tell with the stock tach. I usually shifted well before that because I didn't trust the tach and didn't want to blow anything by overrevving it. The specs on the 270H Magnum camshaft are as follows: 470/.470" lift 270/270 duration 110 LSA cam

I'm hoping to sell it with the whole tranny package with clutch, bellhousing, hydraulics, etc. If I can find people who will buy the other stuff separately or without the shifter, then I'll let you know.

Id give you $20 for the steering wheel with adapter, just let me know when you have it removed and I can swing by(I live in Dedham). Also, is your dashpad in good condition? If so I d probably take that too.

I might have a friend who wants the steering wheel, he asked me about it but isn't sure if he wants it yet. I'll let you know about that soon. The dashpad is cracked in two places, I'd guess you wouldnt want it. Sorry about that.

I have a few people interested in the engine but no one has commited yet. I will have to see if they want the headers and y-pipe with it or not. If they don't then I'd be glad to sell them to you. They do have all the smog connections. The alternator is just a stock replacement less than a month old. I have a v-belt setup, so my smog delete pulley was just removing the belt.

 

Send me a pic of the Bow-Tie Grill. How old is it? Condition? I only want it if its near mint.

 

I have to leave for work right now, but I'll get you a pic tonight. It's pretty old, but I don't even know if it was ever used. The guy I got the car from gave it to me as a spare. I think it's in very nice condition, I haven't really looked at it in a while though.




TPI runners are sold. Tranny/clutch/etc is tentatively sold if the engine sells separately. Everything else still available.

I still have the lifters and pushrods. The lifters are Comp Cams part number 812-16. I got a bad set with my 270H Cam, so I sent them to Comp cams to have them look at them, but I bought a set of Magnum lifters from Summit. Comp Cams sent me a new set, but I already had the car running so they are just extra.

I will sell my whole gauge cluster, its got the 145 speedo, white gauge faces, everything works.

Bowtie Grill and hatch pulldown motor are sold. Still got everything else.
