Check out the new wheels

Tried polishing the original wheels. Didn't like the results at all so I bought these. Front is 18x8.5 with BFG KDW 255/40's and the rear is 18x10.5 with BFG KDW 295/35's. Used Skulte 1.7 spacers in the rear and 2.0 in the front. I know the front brakes look like a$$, getting a set of freshly powder coated calipers and zinc washed rotors and carriers. The studs in the front spacers are too long for the new lug nuts I bought so I'll have to make do with these until I get shorter studs.

I couldn't be happier with the way they make the car look. I have been looking for over a year for the right set of wheels to show themselves and in my opinion these are the $&!%.

looks nice, much better looking then the y2k or 2000 c5 traditional skinny spoke wheels. also great choice on sticking with one size and using the 18's. much nicer then had you ran 18/19 staggering the sizes. a lower stance would accent them much better but the fact you ran a taller profile tire then normal helps with the height the car is at now. good choice.

Thanks.

I agree about the lower stance. I have Eibach Pro springs on it now. Did someone say AirRide? Will definitely do it a little down the road. Hard to justify right now since I just put all new suspension parts only a couple of months ago.

you would need a different adapter size as well as smaller tires to run air ride and truly take advantage of the adjustment.

Oh don't worry, I'll be picking your suspension posts to pieces by this time next year. Maybe your brain if you don't mind. If I'm going to do it I only want to do it once.

I can tell the inner fenders on the rear will need some massaging to get the wheels to set in any more than they are which will need to happen to lower the car any amount. For now though "no hammer needed".

I'm not going to rack my brain about it for a little while. Gonna like it the way it is for now. Get to work on som other areas engine, tranny, interior. That should fill up the next year then I can go back to the suspension and paint.

awesome wheels, the tread on those tires make it look really cool too!.....nonetheless, it brings up a question to me. You say you're running the prokit right now.....I have the same size rims, and profile tires front/back....look at my rake compared to yours (also wit hthe prokit) what the deuce?

I thought I would need more dish to be happy too. I was wrong though I do love a dished wheel. The tint is 35 side/25 rear.

I do have the pro kit. I don't know why yours has such a rake compared to others I've seen with the pro kit. Did you buy them new? Could the springs have gotten mispacked and a set of spotlines for the front got boxed with pro rears?

I debated over the black spokes. I couldn't convince myself I liked them better than these. Maybe a photo-chop is in order. Not by me though cause it would come out looking like this:

I thought that too at first with my springs. But they were brand new and IIRC sportline springs are red...prokits are black. And Ive never heard of someone indexing the springs wrong so that they 'over-lower' the car....only raising it.......must have recieved the 60's muscle car prokit springs

I believe they are just aftermarket, not an option you can select when purchasing a new one.

The black spokes wouldn't look bad I guess. The chrome seems to brighten the whole car IMO. The black tones it down. I'm loving the full chrome more the more I see it.

Do you mess with the adjustment very much? I figured with adjustable I would fiddle until I got it where I wanted then leave it.

that looks awesome, how much was it for the rims after shipping? the car looks great and i could only think of one thing you need to add to the appearance, and that is some chrome, or at least polished, tailpipes and tips. sweet car.

if they were a direct bolt yes, not using adapters and not a mold off of the originals. it's a decent price though.
