Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

Title says it all. I have a manual power steering box from a s10 truck. It is the correct 4 bolt top, and already has the Fbody pitman arm installed. New grease inside the box. I know it works b.c i had it bolted in my car for a little while. Dont have a picture but it is cleaned up and freshly painted.
$125 shipped anywhere in the US.

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

I am interested. I am running a ps box right now, looped without the pump. So it is a direct bolt in, right?

Yes, it is a direct bolt in for our cars. I was running it in my camaro for a couple of months.

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

what is the difference between having power steering and no power steering? Is it harder to turn the steering wheel without?

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

If your running power steering with the steering pump hooked up it will be easier to turn the steering wheel. however if your power steering pump isnt hooked up like shelby7099 replacing the stock power steering box with a non-power steering box will make the steering wheel alot easier to turn. because it has a different gearing inside the box.

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

so is there a steering (not motor) advantage to using manual steering? Would this be a good idea in a daily driver?

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

i just did a manual swap and mine turns easy consider no power steering. the advantage is less weight. (hoses, brackets, pump, lines). mine will be a weekend car because the motor setup im doing. it does free up extra power because your motor will no longer need to use the extra force needed to operate the pump pulley. if your not used to driving a manual steering car. you will have to get used to it.

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

I am looking for a manual steering box, but I can't understand why people want so much for a used one. I work at NAPA and we sell a completely remanufactured box for $150, just doesn't seem logical to pay $100 for a used one when I could get one for $50 more that has been rebuilt.

Not trying to start a fight but just wondering why?

Re: Manual S10 Steering Box w/ Fbody Arm

you sure its the right one for 150? autozone has them for over 200. mid 80's 4 cyl s-10 with the 4 bolt design. i also like how i go to the napa site and they dont even give me a price for the steering box.

Lots of people like the steering feel with the non power steering box. As for the price. I just listed it for what i saw most of them selling for on this board.
