Re: A scammer emailing you? Post their address here!

Here is one I got recently, got 3 more worded EXACTLY the same, same typing errors and everything...3 different names and e-mail addresses...Something fishy? hmm...Nah, can't be, must be coincidence.

I Am interested in buying your Item listed above and i would like to know if its still available because i will like to make an instant purchase,so pls do respond back to me with the Amount of your Item so i can start making the arrangement to buy your Item I will also like you to know that i will be paying via Cashier check, and it will be over night payment due to the distance .Regarding the shipping,You do not have to bother yourself for the shipping as I'll instruct my Client to send down his shipper across to you for the pick-up of the (Item) as soon as you receive the payment. And also be (NOTIFY)that my client shall be including an (Over Payment) in the check he will be sending to you in which you shall deduct the money for the(Item)and then send the rest to the shipper who will be coming across to you for the pick up of the (Item). So i will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check...

1.Your full name
2.Your mailing address be it residential
3.Your phone number.
4, The amount of the Item

So i will like you to email me to my personal email address....jamesrwe@yahoo.com
**Once again ,I will like you to know that you will not be responsible
for shipping, i will have my mover come over as soon as you have your
payment cashed
So i will like you to email me to my personal email address....jamesrwe@yahoo.com
Have a Nice day

Re: A scammer emailing you? Post their address here!

I have had several people try to hit me. One guy even said the FBI was going to get me. LOL. It would take to much space here to go over the back and forth emails. And the filter would have redacted most of my replys.
So now all I do is tell them to have a rep come and pay CASH ONLY, then they can walk away with it in hand. That seems to work like Raid, you know kills them dead.
I just wished I kept the email address, but it was a fake also. When I hit reply it took me to a website. As for scams on ebay and paypal, thats because a lot try this on those sites, just forward the emails to
spoof@ebay.com
or
spoof@paypal.com

This is how I stoped him, but only after my account was locked for a week. It turns out that this scammer hijacked some ones ebay account to run scams. ebay did give me credit on my account for the "fake" sale.
So to all of you watch out on ebay as well.

Re: A scammer emailing you? Post their address here!

I was contacted by someone using the name Jack Lawson, who gave is location in GB. He apparently responded to my post in the parts wanted section, where I posted that I am looking for burgundy interior parts for an 82. At first I assumed he was a member, however the light bulb finally came on and I searched the site for him. I see no signs that this dude has any connection to this site? He could have a membership under another name to have access to our information? It seems that he found my post and contacted me via E-mail, not through this site. I am thinking that he got my e-mail from my membership profile. He says that he has the parts and wants 900.00 GDP shipped. If the currency translater is telling me correctly, this is $1,450.00 US. I asked him to send pics, but have to say that the whole thing smells fishy. Most of these parts dudes on this site are pretty good, however most of them are active on this site, and it is faily easy to check as to how they conduct business. Anyone had any dealings with this Jack Lawson fellow?

Re: A scammer emailing you? Post their address here!

I sent this fellow an e-mail requesting pictures and commenting that the price is high for 3rd gen interior plastics even if they are in the elusive burgundy color. He immediately responded by stating that he had made an error on that price and it will be exactly half, or 450 British Pounds, about 725.00 US.

I responded by asking for pictures. That was 9:35 AM Eastern Standard Time. It is now 8:20 PM, and no further response from him. I doubt if he will write back.
