IMO, they aren't even a "would be nice to have" item. Most people are just going to bend or break them again. Just push the #2 bar back as you lower the top. Easy.

What exactly is the problem without the flip rod, When I put my top down it fits behind the seat, the cloth top somewhat binds on the seat a little, but its not horrible.. I am not really sure if I have the rods or not personally.

I didn't want to make them again unless I could improve on the weak points of the design. I think I have. I redesigned them, replacing the sharp 90 degree bend just before the threaded end with a lubricated and shielded ball joint. This allows for some flex of the top as it is lowered. I have them back in stock and on my web site under the "Body-Exterior" Category. I am attaching a link to them:

http://www.top-downsolutions.com/Bod...product_id=226

The picture of the Flip Rods shows the OEM version in the foreground and my new version in the background.

I am also attaching a link to my Tech Article that I wrote back in 2001 when I created my first batch of the Flip Rods.

https://www.thirdgen.org/tech/fliprods.pdf

The new version is a drop-in replacement requiring no modifications to install. Also in addition to selling pairs of right and left Flip Rods I sell them individually in case you want to replace just the one that is broken or missing.
I hope this helps.
