gta convertible trunk lid light surround help needed
hi all, so im making excellent progress with the trans am gta convertible i have been restoring, its now running perfect and on the road, although it still needs interior roof and paint to be finished, the car is now ready to be resprayed but before i do that im looking for the trunk lid light surround, does anyone make or sell these, im in the uk and having no luck finding one, and i wanted to fit one before the car goes in for paint, any help would be much appreciated.

All I can tell you is it appears to be a unique 86-89 Firebird convertible thing. Actually I think there are 2, the 86-87 (which yours appears to be) and the 88-89. I think the lens itself is from a FORD for 86 & 87, but I am not sure if that was only for the Camaros or not.
Mine on my 89 is literally a piece of vacuum formed ABS plastic that was glued together. I always questioned why they made them the way they did, why not use the coupe brake light setup? I suppose to hide the indentation they made for the CHML, as they were designed in 1986 before the spoiler mounted CHML on the coupes.
Other than getting lucky one day, you might have to get creative and make something work.
They only made 174 in 1987, and a small handful in 1986, so you have 1 of 200 cars. The 88-89 was a little more popular as they made around 434 of those between the two years.
