Quasi-cover

Just curious if anybody had a sort of car cover that only covers the upper portion of the car. Basically from the windshield to the front of the trunk, along with the side windows. Unfortunately, I have to park the convertible outside. The top is the tan canvas top and is starting to show marks from the nearby trees and I'd like to keep the rear window from yellowing.

If there wasn't already one, I was thinking of cutting up a car cover so that it would be easy to put on and remove since I do drive the car frequently. My idea was to add small elastic-ish straps to loop around the mirrors, tuck the front under the windshield wipers, and then have something attach the rear portion of the cover to either the rear of the convertible or to the trunk area. Any thought/suggestions/ideas?

Re: Quasi-cover

That looks like the same one as the first link. Since its the same price, I'll probably buy from the original company instead of off eBay.

Re: Quasi-cover

I've owned one for over twenty years for my Camaro. I bought it at California Car Cover Co. Unfortunately they no longer list it for a thirdgen F-Body any longer. However, they do still list both a Corvette version, (which looks very much like the one they used to list in the catalog)

They also list a custom version:

I'd recommend calling them and inquiring about one for your car. The interior cover has multiple cloth straps that slip into the slot between the tonneau cover and trunk deck lid. Next you pull the cover forward and stretch it over the interior and up and over the windshield. If it is windy you can lift the windshield wiper blades and slip the interior cover under the blades. Next there are straps that wrap around the side mirrors and through the door handle, then velcro to themselves. It takes slightly less time to install than raising the top, but using this instead saves a lot of up and down cycles on the convertible top. More important (and the main reason I got it) it prevents the damage of UV you would get on the rear window if you had raised your top instead of using this interior cover.

Re: Quasi-cover

I think I remember when they were made for F Body cars. I would think they still have the pattern?
