AC clutch chatter
Got a brand new AC Delco Compressor installed, filled with fresh ref. oil, refilled with the recovered R12. Cools like only R12 can.
Does anybody know what the clutch burnish period is for new compressors. Got a little chatter on rapid RPM drops. Everything else humms along nice.
Thanks

Clutch N’ Such
Here’s how to burnish the clutch.
Of course it’s best done immediately after installation.
Run the engine at 2000 RPM.
Cycle the clutch ON and OFF at a rate of 10 to 15 times per minute for a total of 50 cycles minimum.

Re: AC clutch chatter
camaronewbie, brand new Gates Premium belt, swaped in a know good spare v6 belt tensioner. No change. Still have AC clutch chatter.
NINA, already did that when I did the install.
Guess we all know now what the AC stands for in ACDelco.
"All Crap"
Has a 1 year warrenty so if it gets really bad I can tell them where to stuff it.
Thanks guys.
