Ignition troubles
I have an issue with my '94 K1500. Lately something has been killing ICM's and I have been trying to figure it out. I have been noticing a trend as well that the ICM's have been ever more short lived and I think finally the underlying issue has presented its self. The other day I thought it was just another bad ICM, so I replaced it. The truck will start now, but will only run for a second or two and then it shut off. It shuts down like it would when you intentionally turn it off, no sputter or dieseling. I know I have good fuel pressure, and I have spark up until it dies. I was thinking that it might have been the coil which was killing the modules, and I replaced it during my troubleshooting of this issue with no luck. Same symptoms as mentioned. Im at a loss for ideas, but later today I do plan on getting a resistance measurement on the distributor induction coil. The cap and rotor are remarkable looking, but I may just replace them for good measure. And I have a solid connection on all of the electrical connections.
