Rich Porter MAF

I have read on this forum that you should not remove the screens in the maf sensor because it will screw up the accuracy. I have a Rich Porter maf sensor installed. 1989 350 TPI. The Rich Porter has a fine screen on the inlet and no screen on the outlet. Also, no heat sinks. With these differences, it should flow more, but now the accuracy is screwed up. Is that right? Or am I reading too much into this? I'm about to step into the world of tuning and wanted to know if I should make changes to the tune to account for the Rich Porter maf.

Re: Rich Porter MAF

The Rich Porter MAF is their own design, thus is made with the single screen in mind. They're regarded as the best *new* MAF. No tuning changes should be required in regards to the RP MAF.

Thanks thtanner. One less item to worry about. Reading up on tuning, my brain is in information overload. The stickies here are of great help.

Re: Rich Porter MAF

Just a heads up hopefully the Rich Porter MAF is still the same as they are now owned by Spectra (as of 2014) ...

Dave what did you finally get when you ordered from Rock Auto? A Rich Porter MAF or something different?
