EGR question

I am thinking of putting an non egr intake on my 89 TBI. If I set "Disable EGR if MAT < X" to some number like 350 degrees would this prevent a code? I am thinking this is the easiest way to convince the ECM not to turn on egr.

Thanks!

Re: EGR question

Yes, that works. Except that the TBI ECM ('8746) it is by CTS, with two entries to change.

Re: EGR question

In $8D, there's a switch you can throw to disable the EGR diagnostic in addition to setting the enable values to something impossible. Not sure about the 8746 though...

Re: EGR question

Hum, MAT and CTS? What is the second parameter? Closed loop?

Re: EGR question

There are two coolant entries that need to be set:

Code:
LD20C:	FCB	177	; 30c, coolant thres
LD20D:	FCB	165	; 35c, coolant thres
Since it is the inverse temperature setting them to 0 is 150* C.
