Hey guys, ok, looking to do this this winter but need a couple of questions answered. Looking to swap out my Lo3 for a 350 from a Roadmaster/Caprice/truck.

First of all, will any of these work? What engine code in the VIN should I look for? Is one any better than the other? Two, will the flex plate work fine with the 350? Will I need to change anything there? Three, besides injectors, knock sensors and ecm, is there anything else I will need?

Is there anything I left out? I found a couple of shops around here willing to do the work over about 2 days for appx. $400, which I think is reasonable. I would be picking up the engine from a salvage yard, complete I believe. Am I missing anything here? Would I be ok to pick up the engine, take it to the shop, provide the neccessary injectors, sensors etc. Perhaps an Edelbrock intake and better cam. Have the work done and drive it away?? Would really appreciate any help. Thanks again, I know I've asked a lot of questions on this topic!!

As you said, you'll need the injectors, knock sensor and esc module. Same computer's ok, but you'll need a custom chip if you're gonna change the cam and want to get the most out of it.
If you have an automatic, I've heard the caprice chip will work.
AFPR is good for fine tuning your combo. Make your own (ultimate tbi mods) or buy one from Jet or Turbo City.
350 truck injectors: #17112493
350 knock sensor: # 10456288
350 esc module: # 16128261
I'm using a Crane Compucam 2030 HR cam, but I hear, for the $ an LT1 cam is good as well. I've seen these for sale cheap!
Flex plates differ between 1 pc rear main seal and two piece, not 305 and 350, so you should be able to use your old one if the rms is the same type.
I'm also using the Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake, as I'm in CA and it's smog legal. It works well on stock-mild engines, with or without other mods.
I did this swap last December and have almost 30000 miles on it already. Great running, reliable daily driver, with lots more power than the lo3 had. (I bought the 300hp tpi/tbi crate motor from goautocenter.com)
