1987 GTA, low mileage-original car
Description
This particular GTA is an unrestored, 99% original, and documented low mileage (36,103) example equipped with the TPI L98 (350) and 700R4 automatic transmission.
The exterior is painted in the awesome Flame Red Metallic with a flawless red interior. Even though factory paint in the 80’s was suspect this car has held up well. There are the usual small blemishes from normal driving over the last 30 years but the car presents very well. The only real defect is a small crack in the corner of the rear spoiler which is typical for these cars.
The interior is spotless with everything working, including the map lights, and the little pocket/portable flashlight equipped in the upper console. Has the factory floor mats except missing the one for the front passenger floorboard. I’ve entered this car in 4 different car shows and it has won its class 3 times.
Mechanically the car is excellent. The engine bay is exceptionally clean/detailed and retains all factory markings. The A/C has been converted to 134a. The transmission was rebuilt and the differential serviced at 33,100 miles. The chassis is just as clean as the rest of the car with no rust. Cars starts, drives, and stops just like it should and I would drive it anywhere.
This is an extremely clean and nice example of a 1987 GTA that has not been altered or butchered over the last 3 decades. If you’ve been looking to relive the 80’s or just wanted to own a thirdgen F-body, then this is the car for you. This car can be driven, enjoyed, and still attend any cruise night where people will say how they owned one but it never looked this nice.
I've got a teenage son getting ready to start driving and although he really wants to drive the GTA it's just too nice of car.
I would possibly trade down/plus cash for the right car (F-body or Jeep) but no projects since it would be a daily driver.
