Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Idk why people read something and come up with nonsense. Obviously it reads air/fuel mix. Could put one on my lawnmower if I wanted. Was just wondering if someone who has one would recommend to use one and what brand. My car runs great, plugs are perfect, but it would be nice to know where its at.
Just the way it was worded, but i see alot of carbed guys asking if they can use widebands And my answer has always been i wouldnt run a performance motor without one regardless of what motor it is. Its a useful tool esp to monitor engine condition over time. If anything goes out of wack, and you start to see air fuel changes from normal, you know something is up and needs looked at.
There are tons of widebands, alot use the same bosch sensor so it really doesnt matter much on brands. Aem was cheap and simple to install and seems to be working well. I am happy with it

I was hoping to see this project finally come to life. Its been ongoin for a while and would be nice to see how a budget setup works out and if they can compete with budget lsx. Oh well sorry to hear about your luck

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
in full thrash mode now i will make the airport drags come hell or high water , i said fusk the shaft rockers for now and just grabbed some summit whitebox full rollers in 1.5 ,they will be delivered tomorrow.
im also replacing the guide plates and im going to remeasure my pushrod length one last time when the new rockers get here , before i order a new set
If i keep the car after hitting a few races ill do a full mechanical roller cam conversion and shaft rockers over the winter.

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
i didnt use the 500$ shaft rockers , the stainless rockers i used cant recall the brand off the top of my head had good reviews so i gave them a shot , never again
the more i dug into the prw rockers i found mixed reviews , some ppl said they worked great others reported rolle rbearings breaking after about a year with around the same spring presures im running
if i keep the car over the winter it will get a set of lgm, jessel , or t&d's . prolly be the lgm's as they have great reiews on hr.com and yellow bullet
http://lgmrnd.com/index.php/header1/...ock-chevrolet/
for now i bought osme summit racing whitebox full rollers that i have personally used before that i know will hold up

im on it , transbuilder/ friend promised me he'd work on my th350 next weekend
i did however today test fit the new rockers
might need to clearance them a lil better for the springs , and i think i need to change the pushrod length slightly, last thing i need to get is the pushrods ordered and im going to change the oil pump while ive got the oil pan off im sure it ate some grit from the wiped cam lobes so not taking taking a chance on it

Dave, we're not twenty years old anymore, I think it's time you stop investing so much time and money in these 3rd gens. I finished the GTA awhile ago, but had it sitting in the garage, and now it is just about sold pending a very recent deal. Get a new car that you can throw bolt ons towards and enjoy the damn thing, that is the route I am going, just not sure what I am getting yet. Steve turned me on to another GTR, but they are freaking money pits. Shoot me a message on Facebook if your on there bro, few more parts sold and I am just about done on this website...

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Dave, engine looks great with the new setup...
Dig, had the engine tuned for the street up to 10-psi and was having fun with it, uploaded the LT4 SA Main Table in the EBL-P4 soon after to replace the LB9 concoction that I was working with, engine was an entirely different animal even at just 10-psi. Second time out with the new table I wanted to just get a 0 to 60-mph time, and the flexplate cracked like a toothpick. I actually datalogged that burst and stopped at 60-mph then coasted and didn't even realize that the flexplate cracked until I got to the driveway. Was able to get from 0 to 60-mph in 2.8 seconds, and this was with the stock stall coupling at 1700-RPM and boost coming in at 2500-RPM, but I stopped the moment it reached 60-mph. The 1/8th mile in the datalog is not accurate because I was just coasting after hitting 60-mph, and it coasted to a 8.6 @ 64-mph in the 1/8th. This was only at 10-psi of boost pressure on that T72. Since the flexplate had to come out, this is when I installed the TCI stall converter I had, but then I also swapped to a T88 turbo along with the new converter. Car is still in the garage, can't get myself to sell it after having a few people come over and say they want it...

It's the area you're in, you adapted to its' surroundings. Was working on the GTA's interior a few weeks ago, had a Lambo pull up by the driveway with the words Underground Racing written on the bottom of the door. Said to myself no way, then he revved it, heard the turbo's spool, and was like damn, it's the real deal. Have another neighbor with those new funky looking sport BMW's that resemble the Bugatti's, all of them want a piece of the GTA cuz I used stomp on it up and down the street, and I guess it stood out to them. So yeah, if you were still here, you wouldn't be thinking dirt bike, you would already be in that vette and working on a turbo setup for it...
when the camaro is gone ill get something else tp play with over the winter either a vette or s10.
one of my winter projects is putting a turbo on that xr250r i bought thats one of the reasons im buying another bike, that xr250r wont bee good for anything other then dunes/hillclimbs and maybe some lsr when its done , of course im still going to ride the **** out of it threw town.damn bikes are just as exspensive as the cars though , i just spent 500 bucks on a used cr500 front suspension swap , another 100 bucks to update the rear suspension to the later model aluminum swingarm and coil over shock , and 122$ on an fmf pipe for it , not to mention over 100 bucks for 2 friggen tires
just placed the final order for some misc odds and ends from summit racing , to late for it to ship today so that stuff will show up on wensday, cant fire the engine till that arrives
ill have to find the cable for my phone i made my radiator craddle today that bolts into the front fram horns ill have to post some pics

my deceased neighbor had a cr500. his father in law was in charge of liquidating his assets after he passed, and one day called me over there to see if i might be interested in a "motorsickle". i walked in the garage, saw it, and said nooooo wayyy. i couldnt even climb up on the thing. it was a '97 and had hardly been ridden. didnt know a thing about dirtbikes at the time, or i would have bought it just to resell. he said a few days earlier a girl came out to look at it and he told her "maam, i dont mean to insult you, but you'll kill yourself on this thing." she told him she'd been riding for a dozen years but he wouldnt sell it to her. lol

Then there is me, the guy with 2 garages, a barn, horses, a manure pile, etc.
It's no wonder the neighbors don't talk to me.

Re: Single turbo 352 iroc 1000hp or bust the grand finale
Well i was refering to daves but any results for guys doing stock block relatively budget builds would be nice to see! I am strongly considering doing my 305 still with a single 70 but i kinda want to just do light port job on heads and cam/intake it as well. Still up in the air cuz i want to take motor out to clean and rebuild anyway.
Just tuned a 383 tpi setup with a d1 making 8.5 psi at 5000 rpm, it made 521/583 so far. I think my basic 305 should get to 350 whp easily
