Well, I WAS going to order tires today, but I don't actually have the money lol. I've got exhaust and a new thermostat coming tomorrow, Saturday the exhaust goes on and I'll be doing the thermostat whenever, gonna put a correct housing on while I'm at it.
Yeah I'm open to any help I can get. I'm usually able to figure these things out but this is just laughing at me now. What tires were you gonna go with, anything special?

I want Toyo Proxes R888s. But I'm going to wait till I have a more permanent wheel before I spend probably $1,500 for tires. Just gonna order the cheapest tires Tirerack will sell me.

not to be a comedian, but it sounds like somebody put popcorn in there. when did the noise start? have you done a plug reading or checked at night for a crossfire/arcing condition? maybe its re-igniting like a lean pop in a hot muffler? hows it smell? rich/lean? any valvetrain noise?

I can't do anything but laught at this now. It's been ongoing for 2 years. First with my old 350 TPI engine, and now on my Vortec 350 stealth ram swap I just did a few weeks ago. It has a lot of new parts. ECM, prom, injectors, new throttle body with TPS and IAC, distributor (cap/rotor/icm), o2 sensor, fuel filter, maf sensor, plug wires. I run 30lb injectors that are flowing at 24 according to the tuner, so I have a piggyback adapter for the ECM and run a chip tuned for it. Cold it's not so bad, when it warms up it gets pretty decent. Hard to say exactly on the smell. I would say lean though.

iwas beating the car on the way home Monday night, when all of a sudden 2 back fires and no power, then nothing but smoke...

luckily.... the top radiator hose blew off and soaked my msd boxes, and the engine bay...

on the bright side... look at all the time I saved not having to flush the cooling system this winter.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Haven't really confirmed this but I'm 90% sure its my fuel pump. October 9 2013 I replaced my Airtex one with a ACDelco one because of the problems it'd give me after heating up. It was not long after that I started having the miss problem. I have a video I took October 13 2013 that shows the same exact thing. Rapid popping from the exhaust, better with EST disconnected. It's the only thing I can think of. Been over just about every sensor, new engine and intake, different computers and memcals, my fuel delivery is all new aside from the pump. I also have a off idle hesitation if I stab the throttle when warmed up. I'm getting a fuel pressure gauge but the timeline is pointing straight to the pump. I even posted here about it October 26 2013.

That sucks, but at least it wasn't something serious. I'm glad I've only got a grand into my motor/trans, so if it blows I'm not losing a lot lol.

If you get a pump get a Walboro 255 or something similar. Then if you ever decide you want a LS or more power the pump is there for it.

That's what I was looking into. The Racetronix one looks good and has a wiring upgrade option for our cars as well. Anyone run something like this?

Umm. Still vapor locks lol. But other than that ok. No issues with that bolt on the manifold. I think the spacer and the airtex pump is doing it. Been busy so havent been able to put that plate between carb and manifold.

When I took my plugs out to swap out my headers they were all identical. Nice tan color. I was looking into the wideband. Think I got it dialed in to a fuel pump issue though. I'll have my fuel rail mount gauge soon.

Man that's weird. Joe did a good one on that manifold. Should do you good till you can swap another one in.

That's sick. I wonder if they have something like that for the small cap ones.

Been having a slow drain on my battery overnight. Been going on for awhile. Turned out to be my heated O2 sensor. That was interesting.

Got the adapter I needed to mount a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel rail. Gonna get a gauge tomorrow. Hopefully it'll tell me something and overall I think I'm 10psi short on fuel for my setup. Gotta look into an afpr, it's the same the mid-late 80's grand national uses.

Posting here cuz I'm in Tampa Bay and I don't want to ship...

Selling a Used...

Spohn Standard Duty Adjustable Torque Arm & Cross member with Drive shaft Loop for 700R4 and T-5 Transmission

The red torque arm, I bought really used and the black cross memeber I bought last November... It was amazing how different the car felt with this... But as you've read here and for many others, it made clunks... if you got a loud race car, may not hear it... some say get better bolts, etc...

Cross member was trimmed to fit Alston SFC's.... NAPA trans mount included (a few weeks old...)

Sells for $450+ new

$200...

Hey yall. Update. Still no leakage from the bolt which Is awesome. But still got that light flicker going on and now has a decent missfire that I cant figure out. Happens on idle and slow acceleration. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor all new. Carb was pulled and cleaned with new accelerator pump. Any ideas?

It did it both ways stopped and moving it was all over the place. But 5 min drive and it was like 250 degrees. Well I deleted the heater hoses.Since I dont use it. And removed the thermostat for now when I drive later ill see if it heats up again.

Dropping my tank tomorrow to install my Racetronix kit. Really hoping this solves my issue.

Wish I did, Raf.

I'm still quite a ways away from changing the rear on my car but I will probably try to learn to build one myself when the time comes.

New Racetronix kit installed. Absolutely no change with the miss at all. Talk about a slap in the face.

When I lived there, I didn't find any good places, was just going to do it myself.

Now I have a 9" and I'm happy, lmao

I did with the old car tires. Hoping to take it out this weekend with the new setup. What's hilarious is these tires are taller than the Camaro is in the front lol.

Damn that sucks. Wouldn't even know where to start on a HEI setup as far as diagnostics goes. Maybe Joe or Dalton could chime in on that.

Well got it to work. Now the carb is flooding bad. Looks like a jug of fuel was poured into it. Getting towed again. Ill take apart the carb and check to see if the floats are still good. And see if the needle and seat are working properly. Missed work 2 days cuz of this ugh what a start for a weekend.

I bet the needle and seat stuck to where gas was pouring out of the vent tube which flooded the carb

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I agree. Probably caused by the fine rust dust in your fuel tank.

If it does it again, whack the bowls of the carb with a screwdriver handle. Itll knock the float free.

Your gonna need to seal your tank, or get a new one.
