truly a sickness. not a disease. diseases have cures.
More like a mental disorder.

So I found this in my garage today. Brand new never used and has lifters with it. Worth sticking in the 327?

Unless it is bigger than the cam in it right now, I wouldn't. I looked up the cam specs on Jegs and the Duration @ .050" is 204°214° which is kinda small. Also, the RPM range is 1500-4000 which isn't what you'd want.

I'm pretty sure it's smaller than the cam in my 305 now that I think about it. Also, have you gotten around to putting that intake on yet?

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

i havent been on here in a while cause i got frustrated.
first, i broke my posi which caused me to eat a drag radial. with no money to spend, i tossed it in the oven for an hour then welded the spider gears together. made a few passes on our back road strip here. went out one day with a bud, made 2 passes and the tranny took a dump. i think its the pump again cause i took a line loose and its not circulating. so the tranny needs to come out again. never even got to spray it yet. geez.

Well, I won't be driving my car for a couple months. I can't get the stupid alt to line up, so I'm pulling the retarded belt system thats on it off and putting on a aftermarket serp setup.

Ouch man, sorry to hear about all of that. Hopefully it's not gonna be too horribly expensive to get it back up and running

What is the current bracket setup holding your alt in place? Maybe you just need some different ones. Seems like a lot of money to go serpentine when you may be able to get the current setup working. I have the old brackets from my engine setup that lined up perfectly if you want them for free.

Also, today I got the 6x6 plates that I mounted my roll cage on bent down over the curves of the floor pan. Using a torch to get the plates red hot was bada**.

I was also given an exhaust setup which is pretty awesome.

That's what I've got. Do you have the water pump pulley too? Mine seems to be messed up.

Yeah, I have all the stuff for the accessories. Your water pump looks kind of different than mine though, like it's shorter. Maybe it's just the pulley.

Now that's not a bad idea. Need some ground rules though or it'd turn into a free for all, no pun intended.

No problem, glad to help out. I was just thinking though, would you be up to trading that Jegs cam and lifters for the whole accessory drive?

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Didn't know there was an actual active thread for CF. Anyone mechnically inclined that would want to/be able to help me check out my camaro? Running a little rough after sitting for about 2 months after being a daily driver. Plugs were changed shortly before it started sitting.

Also if there's any meets scheduled, i'd love to attend. I'm over in east orlando near waterford lakes if anyones familiar

Since Ducky is coming out, why don't you come by my junkyard as well 84? lol. It's kinda a midpoint.

While we are at it, Gfunkill, you said you were off on weekends right? Haha

I can turn it into a game. Whoever can find Webster on an actual physical map, and get to my house, without the use of the internet or GPS, gets the first beer!

Haha, that'd be fun for the new technology generation. Us old folk remember how to read a map. That would mean Gary is most likely to get that beer! JK!

Arm rests that don't look like a bodacious wave? And while I'm at it, you wouldn't have the plastic trim that makes up the top of the door panel that isn't warped?

I actually do have the arm rests now that you mention it. Can't fit them with the door bars from the roll bar.. Top is kind of "up" though. I'll bring them over.

That's how mine are, I need to get some c-clamps and glue them down.

I need to pu my headliner back in my car. Gotta spend the $400 to fix the leaky roof first though.

84, bring that Powermaster alt with you. I'll buy it from you on Saturday. My alt is too weak for the car lol.

I'll have like 5 alt belts with me for the trip I expect to use all of them lol. I gotta do some work on my car while we are all there, I need to wire in my gauges, put my 160* t stat in, and I probably will have to clean off my plugs lol. This will be a 3rd gen if I've ever seen one.

Lol, maybe we'll actually have a 3rd gen meet. I'll probably head out around 10. Car is behaving well today so I should be fine.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Got some new tires today. Mine were dry rotten, and God knows how old.
I went with 225-60-15 instead of 215-65-15, to get some more meat on the ground.
Didn't get anything fancy, just some Ohtsu's, as I tend to wreck tires pretty quick regardless of price point.
As far as I know, I'll be in Cocoa on Sat, but if a little blue sport coupe pulls up, then there I am.

Actually yes. Is it ready to install? I can't get the pulley on correctly on mine.

Yeah, it's ready to go.

Just went through my parts, here's a list for anybody that's wants something listed

Torque arm
Torque arm mount
30 spline torque converter for 700r4
Pair of two row Z28 tail lights
Oil cooler
New radiator hoses for SBC
Gray carpet center console
Coolant overflow tank
Some T-tops
Rear cargo interior plastic
Cargo area carpet

If you want something, let me know and you can have it for free on saturday. Really need the extra space in my garage

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

finally moved my turd into posistion to pull the tranny again. instead of another used front pump, i'm buying a TCI one. anybody ever had problems with them? appreciate the input. http://www.jegs.com/i/TCI/890/313400/10002/-1

feel like the wounded soldier here,...cant stop breaking stuff.

would love to do a meet up sometime.

on the pulleys,...can you add some washers here and there to get everything lined up? i use a lever or straight edge to get things shimmed just right. only a thought.

Without getting greedy, I could use the tail lights, and cargo area carpet if grey.
