Tranny leaking after TV cable adjustment
I adjusted my tv cable recently but the 3rd and 4th gears are stacking and the tranny leaked overnight which it has never done before
any ideas? should i re adjust the tv cable if the gears are stacking? could i have done it wrong?

Re: Tranny leaking after TV cable adjustment
Sounds like completely unrelated phenomena.
Leave the TV cable alone if it's adjusted right, and find the leak.
Also sounds like maybe some enthusiastic and irrationally exuberant test driving may have occurred.

Re: Tranny leaking after TV cable adjustment
you sir, would be absolutely right haha
not so sure if i adjusted correctly though
I pressed the D button down and slid the adjuster all the way back towards the firewall and with the D button still pressed i had someone floor the throttle and when the cable maxed out some of the adjuster came out about a quarter inch. does the adjuster had to be slid back towards the firewall all the way? cause i test drove it like that and got long hard shifts.

The sliding portion of the cable should not come out of the adjuster. Press the button and slide it back into the adjuster and try again.
You might want to check the cable at the transmission end. My bet is the fluid is leaking where the cable is secured to the transmission case.

Re: Tranny leaking after TV cable adjustment
The adjuster might ratchet out while opening the throttle.
Back in '86 when an OEM TV cable magically worked like that, all was right with the world. AAAAAAAaaannnnd I haven't had one do that since the 90s.
So, go drive the car a bit. Adjust for part throttle characteristics by a click or two. Then repeat until it's right. And if you question whether it's right, get an opinion of someone else. In general, you're looking for firm, quicker with more throttle, shifts.
