Car: 1987 Iroc-Z
Engine: 350 tpi
Transmission: 5 speed std
Axle/Gears: 3:73
305 TPI to 350 TPI swap.
I am swaping a tired 305 TPI to a 350 TPI soon. Before I start, I currently have a stock 5-speed manual transmission. Will this tranny be able withstand the change to a 350? I don't plan on going crazy HP wise with the 350. Only shooting for about 330-350 HP. I am on somewhat of a budget. If it will not work, can I do some mods to the current tranny or will I need a completely different one?

There are no mods that I'm aware of that can make a T-5 stronger, the weak link is the case. Weather or not it will hold is kind of a gamble, but the general opinion on here is if you drive it nicely it'll be fine, if you put drag radials on the back & try to launch it you'll blow it up.

Don't side step the launch or power shift it and it will live. Soon as you start beating on it you'll be replacing it.

i have a 400 sbc in front of my t5 trany. granted mine is a World Class t5. and it has held up great.
