4L60E same crossmember as 700R4?
Just picked up some long tubes and planning on putting in a 700R4 in place of my T350. I'd like to maintain as much room as possible and looking for a crossmember that is made for L/T.
I looked online and Hawks has a crossmember made for L/T but is for the 4L60E. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 700R4 a 4L60? Wondering if Hawk's crossmember for the 4L60E would work for a 700R4. I sent Hawks an email so awaiting an answer.
However, anyone try or know if it would work as it's the same tranny case with mount in same location? Thank you.

As long as it is for a thirdgen and not a 4th gen it will work. I have a 4l60e in my car using the factory crossmember. Cases are pretty much the same.

Re: 4L60E same crossmember as 700R4?
Thanks Jake. It's listed on the Hawks web site. They list it as a conversion tranny crossmember for a 84-92 Camaro/Firebird installing a 4L60E. I did contact and they ask if was an LS motor. I responded, "no", and told them my engine size, etc. No response yet, but if this does work for a 700R4, this will allow many third genners with a 700R4 to run long tubes with more clearance.

Heard back from Hawks and they stated it will not work for a 700R4. I hope someone will make a double hump crossmember. With the T/A mount would be even better!! I'd even loan my car.
