T56 swap questions

T56 swap questions

Few questions regarding a t56 swap into my 86 iroc. Right now its a NWC T5 will the flywheel work from the T5 or do I need a T56 flywheel? I know the pressure plate is different.

Also the torque arm that goes to the rear end can i buy a bracket to bolt the arm to the T56 or does the bracket from the T5 work? Does the driveshalf need to be shortened? And is the driveshalf spline right to mate with the t56?

Also unsure exactly what needs to happen with the slave cylinder.

I have been searching the forum which has some answers but a few different answers seem contradictory so any direct help here wiould be muchly appreciated.

You need an LT1 T56 flywheel. You need an LT1 slave cylinder which will boltto the oem bracket under the hood. You need a Crossmember designed for this swap. You can reuse your driveshaft.
I highly suggest buying new flywheel and pressure plate bolts from the dealer.

If you need a flywheel and bell housing then let me know. I may have those parts kicking around in the garage.
