Ok so I'll bite the bullet and do the DIS swap. I already have a 7730 comp from my 91 L98 car. What all do I need to setup a DIS? I wouldn't mind going ahead and converting the 2.8 now so when I do the hybrid 3.4 swap it will be ready to rock. So... what all do I need to get? The boneyards are LITTERED with gen 3 top ends here in SLC so I have access to damn near everything.

Re: 7730 DIS definitive parts list? Anyone have one?

The DIS conversion is easier on the 3.4 than the 2.8, because the 3.4 already has the machining in the block for the crank sensor and the crank has the notches machined into it.

So looking at the 3.4 which is the easier swap you will need:
-60 degree V6 ignition pack (ICM and coils) from 1987 to 2004 FWD 2.8, 3.1, 3100, 3400.
-crank sensor (should already be in the 3.4 block)
-Crank sensor wire harness, the longest will be the gen2 60 degree V6 used from 1987 to 1992, also 1993 and 1994 on SOME models. The gen3 crank sensor harness is about quite a but shorter. Two can be spliced together to extend if needed though, just some care has to be taken to ensure the shield is good after the extension.
-FWD MEMCAL from a 1987 to 1992 (and some up to 1994) applications. Look at Cavaliers, Berttas, etc. Alternatively a new EEPROM can be used (better option) to set up the DIS differences in the bin and other tuning can be done.

On the 2.8 you will need all of the above plus an external crank trigger set-up. Some people have made their own, some people have bought a FWD external setup (typically sold for 3500 (LX9) swaps and fitted it to the RWD balancer/pulley.

So would my L98 harness work for this or would I have to take one from any 3.1+ FWD car?

Bump for an answer. I'd love to get this started. I've been seeing alot of Fiero 7730 swaps but really none for our cars.
