Minitub complete, want to run 12" rear wheels... C7 ZO6 seem possible, fronts are 10"

As you can see from the image I have completed my minitub.

Not super tubbed because I plan to go with air ride, bag over shocks in the back and they have a pretty large diameter so I didn't need to go any wider. If I did the rims would rub against the air bags.

That being said, C7 ZO6 rims look great! And are the size I want, in the back 20" x 12".

The problem I see is that the fronts are 10" wide. My current rims are 9.5" wide and I didn't want to go any wider.

Anyone have any experience putting a 10" wide rim up front? I had my 9.5" wide, 275s rub sometimes at full lock. (C5 brakes and 2" spacers on C4 grand sport rims, stock replacement springs)

I figure I would need to run at least 285s on the 10" wide rim like a stock ZO6. Or maybe I could stretch out some 275s?

Thoughts?

They will fit but you will have to adjust the steering stops to keep them from rubbing the frame. Will probably rub the plastic liners as well but its not bad.

I ran 18x10.5 with 295/35/18's on the front of my 92 and it was fine with just a steering stop adjustment.

Perfect, thanks for the info.
I have tubular a arns with fabricated stops that are adjustable.

Not buying the wheels for a while, but good to know they are an option.

What brakes were you running when you had the 10.5" wheels? Do you know what the backspacing was?

I'm interested in how this thread goes. Very much debating mini tub on mine as well as air ride and possibly 19x12s.

Nice. I will keep you posted. I am pretty determined to get this done. Might take a while though. Everything is expensive. I am working on cleaning up my floor boards now, then roll bar, then.........then air ride

Was running a Baer 6s 14" 6 piston setup with custom kore3 hubs. Wheels were +27offset and a direct fit in my case, but the hubs were made to make this all work.

Also did you use Wolfe 4th gen tubs or make them? I assume no backseat. My setback is I need to have a backseat for the daughter. Debating if it's even worth it or possible to run a 335 with keeping the back seat.

Hey Jay, I plan to remove the back seat as of right now, but that is not due to the tubs. It will be due to the roll bar.

I plan to mainly drive this to work and take it to shows, and maybe see what autocross is like years down the road.

The plastics have to get hacked up ( I could care less), but the back seat could fit if you cut it up a bit.

My trunk has been sliced up and reconfigured to hold a fuel cell under the car, so I am concerned with rigidity back there, one of the main reasons I am installing the roll bar. I have a trap door to fill the cell. Gas door has already been shaved. Got rid of the door locks, antenna and side marker lights too. (almost 10 years ago).

Sorry your actual question... Yes it was a Wolfe kit that was fairly heavily cut and trimmed to fit my needs. If I could do it again, I would be able to do less trimming and probably install it in half the time. But so is life... I am a mechanical engineer that works for Nerf, not a custom car fabricator....

Re: Minitub complete, want to run 12" rear wheels... C7 ZO6 seem possible, fronts are

I'm sure I could fit Corvette 19x12s on the rear, probably on 325/30s, and 18x10.5s on the front has been done, on at least 285/30s, maybe 295/30s, I forget, so a 19x10.5 or a 20x10.5 would tuck.
The last one to do 10.5s up front said 11s would tuck up front, and right now Detroit Speed is working on 18x11s with 315/30s on all 4 corners. They pretty much tuck, but DSE wants to flare the fenders anyway.
With minitubs, you could probably tuck 355/30R19s, which are the widest (Y)-rated tires there are. But I'd wat wheels wider than 12s for a 355. Probably a 14"-wide.

Think i will look for some Z06 rim/tire take offs. Just use those sizes to save on cost.
