C5 Corvette Bronze Magnesium 17"-18" wheels

Does anyone know the back spacing on these wheels and will they work with spacers on our third gen Camaro's? Would it be better to go 17 inch all around or the 17 inch front and 18 inch rear? Anyone using them? Thank you in advance. Mike

Re: C5 Corvette Bronze Magnesium 17"-18" wheels

I don't know the backspacing off the top of my head but 4thgen and newer wheels and c4 and newer vette wheels are commonly used on thirdgens with 2" bolt on spacers. A 4thgen rear end won't need spacers. This topic has been covered at least a thousand times. Using the search feature would be very beneficial.

What you plan to do with the car (street, strip, autoX/RR) is really the first question in what size is "best". Second question is, what look do you like best? square or staggered?

For street, it doesn't matter what size you use as long as you like it.
For strip, small fronts and big, sticky rears of course.
For autoX/Road race, square set up is best. 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 with 275 width tires, or 18x10.5 with 295 width tires. Keep the tire diameter between 25.5" and 26". 200 treadware is also something to keep in mind when buying tires.

Re: C5 Corvette Bronze Magnesium 17"-18" wheels

Thanks for the information. The person that has the wheels for sale has four 17 inch and two 18 inch for the rear. I will plan to stay with the 17 inch all the way around with the 275 tires. This is the setup I had on my 2000 SS. The wheels look different and you sure don't see them around much anymore. Thanks again and I will use the search next time.
