lambo vs. honda, a real head shaker

back home in lowell we were out one night last summer, just crusing around in my buddies moms car (02 supercharged buick regal GS) just minding our own business. we were driving down the boulevard which is a four lane road that follows the river....very nice cruising road. lo and behold, what is in front of us? a lamborghini diablo 6.0.......so we are all going nuts, and we get to a light and stop behind this thing to take in the beauty.....what a marvel automotive style, performance and charisma those cars are.....but little did we know that this was about to get interesting....

cue the tell tale sound of the 15 inch fart can exhaust closing in from behind......we all look at each other (there were 3 of us) with the "oh my ***" expression, but not a word is said. this neon green pukemobile(civic hatchback) rolls up on its 17 inch chrome wheels with about 7500 bucks worth of japanese writing cut out of vinyl decal all over it. it was obviously adorned with the obligatory 15 foot aluminum wing.

as you can imagine, the thing pulls up next to the lamborghini, and i said "oh boy, this is gonna be priceless. the guy in the lambo didnt really seem to car what was going on anyways......then the 17yr old dog rapist in the honda opens his window and flips the lambo off...im like wow thats a really bad idea. then the honda gives the lambo some revs......

at this point im in total awe of the stupidity of r*cers:lala:
so the guy inside the monument of excessive speed and power that is the diablo hits a quick rev (prob like 9000rpm lol) and just relaxes.......meanwhile fathead the assassin the trailer park lemas car has his car tached out like hes launching with a 2-step......
the light turns green and the sh*t snake in the honda burns his tires and flies off the line...meanwhile, the lambo is still sitting in front of us motionless......then the v12 roared to lifeand took off like it was on a rail (the honda was like 4 car lengths up already) in less than 3 seconds the lambo had completely a*s raped the honda and was gone from sight never to be seen again...(damn shame) so we pull up to another light about 2 miles away next to the land speed record holding civic.....we are laughing hysterically, literally in tears......the 2 kids in the civic look at us (visors on crooked the whole 9yds) and we get silent. and the kid says what you laughin at foo? then we exploded lauging again, and torched the civic off the light with the supercharged buick and spent the rest of the night contemplating how anyone could be that dumb...cause this kid was dead serious about racing that lambo

wow what a c*ck knocker

yep that stuff happens around here.....and your right there is probably an equal amount of r*cers who dont know what they are racing as there are dumb ones who are completely arrogant and actually think they can touch a 250k dollar super car with an sh*t brick econobox honda.

one time up in manchester NH we were at a dunkin donuts just hangin out in the parking lot, and i heard an insane RPM rev, i turn around and theres a kid in an eclipse trying to race some dude in ferrari 348 spyder! i was like what the f*ck is going on up here. he got raped as per the order of the universe.

oh by the way, sweet paint on that gta man

Thanks bro, red is my favorite, even though its a eye catcher to cops, at least everyone recognizes me when i drive by, u cant miss that red.

Ya my friend and i were in his 98 LS1 TA, and we were fooling around with a Ferrari Testarossa mid 80s i think. Of course this was on the highway, and so we couldnt get an edge on it, but the fact that we got to mess with one of those is sweet.

At least its better to race one with a good car like an LS1 rather than a lawmower Honda.

ya, in truth you could probably hang with that thing off the line.....not just american cars were slow back then.....pretty much all cars were slow....the ferraris and the like were just less slow than all the other cars back then lol

newer super cars are another story altogether though

Very interesting......

Sometimes you have to give those kind of cars a little rev now and then to motivate the drivers to do some reckless driving....

I have revved my engine at a Viper before simply in for the fun of seeing it in some reckless driving, not to race it...

My uncle had a BMW M3, and he used to get Honda Civics all the time that wanted to race.........the simple head shake and laughter works wonders......

I went on a car cruise yesterday in my new Z and two cars ahead of me was a Lamborghini Murcielago. He's one of the guys in the car club I'm in (EFI Unlimited). Was sweet seeing that thing in person. I'd love to see it take off!!

This isnt really racing related but also an interesting Lambo story. A couple weeks ago I was at work and saw a Diablo pull into the parking lot. Some guys and I are out there checking it out and got to talking to the owner. It was a 92' Diablo with only 3,000 mi. This was cool enough then he shows us a copy of the registration, the previous owner was Mario Andretti. The funniest thing was the guy was dressed like he would be driving a dump truck or something

Oh come on now we all know racing is all about who trys harder (and horsepower, torque, weight, gearing, driver skill, and traction). But you know if it wasn't for those 6 things I can see losing to a r*cer from time to time.

What kind of an imbred retard thought that the honda could hang with the lambo. Great Story.

I always wanted to see something like that.... the best wins are when the REAL cars just sit there and wait til the other one peels out and gets ahead and gets whooped. I would pay to see that

I've actually seen something you could call similar to that story. Back when I lived in Cali, I saw a 300 zx try and race a viper GTS not nearly as uneven, but still insane. That viper killed the 300zx.

I wish I could have seen that in person. Everytime I see a Viper or Ferrari on the streets, they always seem to travel 5 mph under the speed limit. I guess when you own or drive a car like that, you don't have to prove how fast your car is.

hehe thats true now that i think about it. I do the same thing though, when i take the camaro out for a cruise. the car has pretty much proved its point around town so i just pimp around at like 30 most times, its fun and relaxing. plus when you drive a car that stands out like a viper or ferrari you want to give yourself as much chance as you can not to get pulled over. :lala:

I drive slow because my car is slow. No sense in me wasting gas to prove how slow my car is.

A few guys in my car club drive imports that can beat exotic supercars (like a Lamborghini Diablo ) on the streets. Of course none of them are Hondas. Hondas have no potential. R*cers drive Hondas. These guys run real imports with high boost and they know how to tune. Most of them run over 500 whp and have a weight advantage. Here's pics of the Lamborghini Murcielago from the cruze.

http://www.speedhawaii.com/images/to...2/Dsc_3697.jpg

These might not work all the time. The guys who host it run those 'anti-messageboard-posting' scripts on their webserver. If it dosnt work first try removing the www. in front of the address ... if that dosnt work goto www.speedhawaii.com and check out the Toys for Tots cruze like 5 or 6 articles down on the left. Pics of the Lambo are at the bottom.

ya, i can beat alot of exotic supercars in the quarter mile....thats not the point with those cars man....

you ain't gonna touch those things on top end....or handling...not even close.

besides, if you show up in a tricked out 300zx and i show up in a lambo murcielago...whose gonna get the chicks? thats what those cars about besides being beautiful and artisitic expressions of incredible automotive engineering.

i'll take the lambo dude sorry. thing is in alot of street races you go further than 1/4 mile, and then the supercar owns you.

good thing these things are on hawaii, cause they aint ever gonna bother us over here on the mainland unless they grow gills hehehe

Yeah I kinda know what you mean. I totally agree that nothing can compete with exotics as far as being beautiful and artisitic expressions of incredible automotive engineering. Thats why they cost so much I guess. Most of those cars would really shine on a closed roadracing track where you can open it up. Unfortunately majority of them are old by old folk who wont mash the gas. But still, alot of highly modded cars (both domestic and import) can beat super expensive exotics if they are tuned right. Good example: look at the guys on LS1 with Robs turbo kit. With some more tuning those things would walk most exotics. They wont compare on the engineering aspect, but for pure power they will win.

Another good example. Check out these websites to see info and movies about the Walser Supra. This should be your moment of zen if you think all imports are slow. I agree that cars like this are very rare to see, but they are out there. And you can see the big difference between a r*cer who spends most of his $$ of appearance and a tuner like this guy who spends most of his $$ on performance. Check out his exterior mods hehe. I dont know of many cars that can beat bikes on the freeway in top end. Much less a Hayabusa from a 70mph roll.

I agree 383, you can't touch these cars when it comes to style and artistic engeering........not only the styling, but also the engines......I don't care if your Honda can run 9's......i don't see a stop speed of over 200, and when the race ends....YOU HAVE A HONDA.......

There is no substitute for Italian Automobiles, they are fantastic....

The new Bugatti has a W16 Quad Turbo STOCK.......1001 HP.....

Exotic cars are more of fine works of art. Of course there are cars that can beat those exotics, but I don't think they can match the seductiveness of a Lambo, Ferreri, or one of my favorites -- Aston Martin Vantage. They are the kind of cars where it would be almost sacreligous to mod it the the way we do with F-bodies and similar normal cars. They are an overall package, an 11 in every detail on a scale of 1-10.

I had forgotten about the Bugatti. Even the engines are pure works of automotive engineering and design. I don't even think I would drive that Bugatti. It's like there isn't a road nice enough for it to drive on.

my favorite car was the countach when i was a little kid (that was the first car i ever liked or knew anything about) and they were sweet but not really that fast....then the diablo came out but it lost some of the styling.....the murcielago is like a smoothed over countach with even more power than the diablo...what a car wow. thats some amazing automobil. Bugatti has been playing with that quad turbo thing for awhile glad to see they got it together.

you can out power an exotic, but in the end the other guy is gonna go home and bag the supermodel and you arent hehe oh well

I love the countach myself. Since I am an old school fan, I love the 1970 prototype countach - it was very slick without ground effects and fender flairs. It looked so futuristic and it still does too me. It is pretty rare to see the really early countachs.

Since we're on the topic of exotics and supercars, I'm curious to see what you guys think about the new Ford Supercar the GT40 (friend who works for ford says they'll release it as a GT50 but I dunno), or the new Saleen S7? The GT40/50 will be around $125k while the S7 will be something like $325k. How do you guys think american engineering is going to compare to the European counterparts?

I am not to keen on the remake of the GT40 dubbed the GT50. The GT40 was all about the raw power and handeling. Ford should have just let the GT40 rest in peace. The GT50 better be a lot better than the original because I would hate to see a car's history devalued by an inadequate replacement. The Saleen S7s seem like just another exotic super car. I don't know to much about those yet. Are they using carbon fiber construction?

I think the new Ferrari F60 is about as close as you can get to having a street legal F1 car.

i dunno, but i doubt a production of that gt40 concept car will ever come to fruition....ford doesnt follow through with things like that for the most part.

The s7 is made largely of carbon fibre and is an excellently engineered car.

they talked to someone at ferarri about that new car awhile back and they said something to the effect of "we are trying to bring the f1 racing experience to the road with this car" oh man what a great idea......its miller time

I believe Ford is millions of dollars in debt as well.

Well Ettore Bugatti started off in Italy by just making one off race cars and airplane engines and such. In 1920 Bugatti moved to France where he stayed the rest of his life. So it did in fact start in Italy.

I thought Ford gav it the go ahead and its coming out in the next couple years.

My roomate has a pretty much stock RX7 and he in good fun cruised around with a Ferrari Maranelo. My roomate isn't a ***** so he didn't try and race or anything, he just had this cat an mouse catch up game with the Maranelo and said the guy did it in good fun and just humored my roomate around Pacific Coast Highway here in SoCal where the road is all twisity and good for having a good time. He said that Ferrari kicked ***.

Its true how in the end even if you beat an exotic you still have a Honda. I've seen a video of a blown Civic beating a Ferrari...the civic wasn't riced either it was done in good taste...no flashy paint or decals or body kits, so it was intresting to see. Some people do like just having fun with their cars unlike show-off ignorant r1cers.

My favorite exotic has got to be the McLaren F1...carbon fiber construction, BMW V12 engine with gold in the engine bay, driver sits in the center....200+ miles an hour...pure sweetness.
