Twisted Metal (Disaster)

A big Rig comes by, and the driver claims to have fallen asleep at the wheel and hits a late model honda and skins the side then hits a early 2000s ford exlporer and totals that then hits my dads 1970 Ford truck and wrecked it slamming it to a light post, then hits a black honda and hits another honda...

My baby was 3 cars away and ran straight to it when I heard the loud noise. Thank gods it was left untouched!

Judging by the size of the truck, I would guess it was a local driver. Over the road drivers are subject to limits on the amount of time they can be on duty before they have to have time off, and they are required to keep a log to prove they have been off duty. I know that they can fudge the log, but at least they have some regulations. Local delivery drivers can drive unlimited hours without being in violation of anything. Some work 8-12 hour shifts, others may be working around the clock after the $$$.

The best your Dad can hope for is that you can find a comperable Ford truck and try and get their ins co to buy it as a replacement. Dollar wise, the insurance will probably offer $100.

HAHAHA This is ironic.... me and my dad went to the chevy dealer and bought a 2005 Chevy Silverado extended cab!!!

But I need to ask you all a question...

The Dealer is asking for a yearly income tax sheet of how much my father makes a year and my dad does not have these forms for some reason...... what im wondering is why the dealership needs this (maybe its for thier bank?) but my father is capable of paying the monthly bills, he is self employed. What im saying is if we do not provide the dealership with that tax form, can they reposes our truck? we paid them the downpayment and the sales associate knows we can pay off the truck monthly.. Im just wondering can they take our truck away??? and if they can will we recieve any of our money back.. we put 5k down. someone help me out on this?? please

SOP when you are self employed.

And if you dont - they will, and you will probably have to sue them for the down payment less depreation as the truck is now used.

Tell them they should have verified your income and secured the loan before they let you walk off the lot with the truck. This sounds like a dealership scam to me. I've heard lots of them in stories from friends.

I dont think its a scam, The financial lady was probably stressed out since so many people were there buying trucks since this sale is going on GM EMPLOYEE discount.... but thanks for the advice Kevin, i will let them know that.
