Depends on what you are looking for..

I just spent $1,500.00 on parts for my 305 rebuild..

Are you looking for Pistons, rings, etc.. If so Sealed Power has a few decent kits, that include Cam, Cam bearings, pistons, rings, gaskets, lifters, freeze plugs, oil pump, timing set & Prelube..

They have different sets, but run around $375-550.00..

Car: yy wife, crazy.
Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
Check out www.pawinc.com
They have a kit in there called a Deluxe Engine Rebuild Kit. It runs around $162. That's just rings, bearings, Oil pump, timing chain w/gears, and gaskets. Cast pistons are about $60 more. I doubt if you need a new cam because it's a roller cam right? Unless you wanna modify and change cams. If you want one, expect to spend another $250. Roller cams aren't cheap. You'll have to buy one of their catalogs. It's about $6 and only has 1,250 pgs. That and check out Powerhouse @ www.enginekits.com They'll send you a brochure for free. They have some pretty cheap/good kits also.

The best 305 rebuild kit is a 350 engine. Engine rebuilds are not cheap, so dont even bother trying to go that route.

Thanks for all the help, To start off with, Im just trying to give my engine a couple of more years of life, she is starting to run/idle rough and is starting to shake... I really think if i just replace the gaskets and other small things is will be fine, but if I see something wrong i will fix that too...... and to get a 350 in there it will cost me around $3000 because when i go the 350 route it will be a 383 with heads forged parts roller everything etc.... then about another 300 for stupid .... like knock sensors.. But thanks for the help with the 350.... Anyone else know of other places that have really good prices????
