Is anyone running Air Flow Research heads?
I was looking at their site, and the numbers they pulled off of 350's and 383's were pretty impressive. I was curious if anyone had any info to back that up. Also, If anyone knows how much their heads cost, I can't find a price on them.

Car: Damn
Engine: This
Transmission: New Stuff
Hey.
I just bought a set of 190s. With milling to 58cc, center bolt, and egr, they ran me about $1650 shipped to my door. A little less i think.
They are great heads and people usually get out of them what they expect.
------------------
White '88 RS (originally 2.8)
Previous engine-350, .040 over, vette alum. L98s, stock tpi, stock 305 injectors & chip. TES headers & edelbrock cat back. 3.73 gears, 700r4.
Best with 2.8-17.4@77mph
Best with 305-15.0@93mph
Best with 357-13.7@101mph
on a 2.050 60 ft.
(Damn the 2.8!)
New Setup:
4 bolt 357 (10.2:1), AFR 190s (fully cnc ported), LT4 Hot cam (1.6 RRs), Ported SuperRam (upper&lower), Ed Wright custom chip, 24# Accel injectors, Yank 3200 lock-up TC, 3.27 9 bolt rear, some traction! Hoping to see some 12s.

They are GREAT heads! They are the most popular heads here at thirdgen. If you cant afford the AFR take a good look att canfield heads, they floe pretty good......

I bought AFRs through TPIS because it was going to take 4-5 weeks from AFR. As an added bonus you get the TPIS logo milled into each end of the head. The exhaust port is also slightly different(supposed to work better with TPI or was it the intake?) Basically they are fancy AFRs. I couldn't wait another month so I paid a few hundred dollars more. They are arguably the best cylinder head out there if you want to spend the money

If you don,t mind sacrificing a very small amount of HP the Trick Flow 23 degree heads are very good and big bucks can be saved to buy extra hp elsewhere on the motor. Many have been overlooking the potential of the Dart Iron Eagles with a little pocket porting. Also for the larger 400+ engines PRO 1 has a pretty good deal. That is what is neat about small block chevys. So many alternatives.
