050'' inch thick. Those are stout. I havent decided a price. But they wont be too cheap. It takes me alot of time to make these.

In case you get back into this in the future (besides the sills, which I am interested in) another item that I think there might be a market for are the retainers that the t-top pins slide into. They are made of such cheap plastic that they crack easily, and the screws that hold them in place dig down into the plastic if you tighten them too much. I think they'd be much better if made from some stronger material.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, cept I couldnt make it one piece... so it would have two pieces that are riveted together. I will make some templates tomorrow. As for the wiper vent delete panels.

i read the first page of this and i love all the idea's but for the cup hold and dash i was tring to do something my self
i told an old cracked beat up dash and tried to knotch out 2 spots near the passanger side of the middle vent and get 2 cup holders into there , the dash it self could not support the drink but maybe if you did it and tried to reinforce it using the fiberglass it would work i dont have a 2nd crappy dash to try it my self and i suck with fiber glass.
but it would slove out cup holder probs and not be in the way of any thing major , the passanger would still have plnety of room also

People seem to go through a lot of work to get cupholders.
I think that if you want them badly enough, a 4th gen console swap is the way to go. With the later style console ('97-'02) you get 2 in the back, a middle one that will hold a can or small bottle quite nicely, and a swing-out holder on the PS that works well. Giant big gulps might not fit, but that's ok by me.
More stock looking that some of the custom setups that people try to make work.

Well, if you like the stock console that much then I guess the 4th gen swap isn't for you.
But how sexy will the stock dash look if you start cutting it apart just to fit cups in there?

no one said anything about dashes lol 4th gen ls1 consoles are sexy. You can find them for around $150 average. They are worth it. I will still see what i can make for the thirdgen.

Hello
I would be very interested in a stainless or polished aluminum rad cover for my dual fans. I am also very interested in your door sills as well for my 89 iroc.
Also i might be interested in a stainless or aluminum TPI snorkal. However i dont beleive this one is a reality
Some tother things i would like to shoot out there are [3rd gen]...
SS or ALUM windshelid pilars to repalce the black plastic ones.
" " door panel tops that replace the black plastic ones
Another thing would be SS or ALUM hood louvers.
I made a mock up by covering one of mine with some aluminum tape.
I wasnt crazy about it but maybe someone might like the idea.

awesome what you are doing here, and as soon as i can get some cash together i'll be ordering sills, and the radiator cover peice. I Just read all 7 pages and am astonished by your motivation with your current projects even though you have a 70 hour work week, home problems and lack of general interest by our fellow thirdgenners. Also am very sorry to hear about you blowing your engine .
Although if their is anything i can do (measure things for you or possibly come up with some deisgns or anything i'd be happy to try and help for the cause at no cost)
unfortunately i'm farly useless with no real metal working tools other than a hammer a 2 by 4 and a welder hehe. I'm also slightly skill wise challenged being only 17 but, i'll do what i can to help in any way i can to make these things happen for everyone faster and to make it easier on you.
Anyways keep up the good work and nice web page.

Thanks for your support, 17 isnt a bad age. I am only 21 lol. Yeah well I am doing the best that I can. Feel free to come up with new ideas and a plan how how to make them. I can only do as much as My budget allows on certain things. I need to update the website however, I will try and do that this evening.
Just keep in mind that When ordered. I make them when they are ordered. It takes a long time with my primitive tools lol. So do not expect me to ship it off right then and there. I work as fast as I can.

quite understandable, about primitive tooling, the guys up at work (i work as mechanic still laugh at me from time to time when i use more primitive tools) amazing all the stuff they have tools for, makes it easy yet harder at the same time since i was so use to doing it the hard way lol.
Anyways one more thing i'd personally love to have is a polished aluminum or stainless steel brake master cylinder cover, would be realy kool imo...... Kinda of needed to go along with the radiator and sills to hehe.
Anyways did i remember correctly when i thought i heard somewhere that you had etching capability's? If so i think it would be pretty sweet to have camaro in cursive kind of like on the camaros of old across the door sills and master cylinder cover or such, actually just any writing realy to make it a little more personalized, if you can't i of course could etch it myself just not sure how well it will turn out lol (probably practice for a while first).

Billet specialties carries one [master cylinder cap]. And i have seen groovless plain ones before that you could engrave in.
Also about the cup holders. There are only so many places you could put cup holders in these cars. 1. Use the 90-92 firebird door cupholders 2. Put a single cup holder on the console plate behind the switches. 3. Do the cup holder mod in the the articles that replaces the ash tray. 4. skrew/glue one of those fold up cup holders to the side of the console. 5. Change the console to a 4th gen
I dont know about the rest of you but i would rather that nelapse spends his time thinking about/making things that you cant buy somewhere else. If you want cup holders... whats wrong with the 5 options i just listed?
As for renforcing the center console lid i took a peice of 1/8th" thick sheet metal in the inner shape of the lid and glued it to it, Never had a problem since.
The reason the dash pads crack is because they are made of foam. If he made a plastic, or fiberglass one it would last forever.... but think of it, that would be a big peice of heavy plastic. Whay not have him make brushed aluminum covers that slip over the cracked foam ones in the exact same shape with the same bolt holes so the thin SS or aluminum covers just go overtop of the existing dash pads, saving material and shipping costs because of weight. and it would look like a whole new dashpad. I would b interested in something like that for sure.
Anyway...keep it up your doing great.

As for the dash pad, Coverlay makes a replacement cover that is made of fiberglass or some sort of plastic, and it is completely molded. It snaps onto place to make it look OEM. Has oem holes, and vents. No one... will ever top that design. I couldn't make anything like that. It is truly one of the best parts i have seen. They run $130-150 ish and are worth every penny.
If you make a ss or aluminum dash pad you will get insane glare you know? It would be annoying after 5 minutes.
This stuff is very difficult for me to create since i do not have a thirdgen anymore lol! I am looking to buy one, but unfortunately i am as broke as they come due to my catastrophic thirdgen failure, I had to scrap $5k
Heck Id even take a 305 if the price was right.
man what am I going to do.....

I was interested in the single fan radiator support origonally, but I never kept up with it, basically because I was trying to get my car running and all visual improving parts were put on the back burner.
I see that your getting back into the sweing of things, and if you do decide to sell the single fan rad support, I will purchase one.
I was also interested, if you consider making it, a metal master cylinder lid.

Well, I really appreciate the offer, I actually have 2 spare 350 long blocks that could use rebuilds. The fact of the matter is I need a whole car lol. Thanks though bro.

How about producing exact replicas of the dual snorkel air cleaner used on '83-87 5.0 H.O.

The firestar performance website will be reformated for automotive use. It takes alot of research and time to make new products. I mostly make profit in my spare time, porting intake manifolds. Selling my aluminum slave cylinders and some other odds and ends.
I am doing it all by myself so it is difficult you know. 87CIZ thanks for all the support dude, You have always been there for me and had my back. I never did forget about you. PM me your phone number so we can talk.

Yeah I sort of forgot about them. Your emails are burried in my inbox, could you please email me? notchbackgta@hotmail.com Ill just take the fittings and Ill buy one of your slave cylinders too. I cant afford to get the hose and fittings right now. I would also like my upper shroud too, unless you still need it. I am putting the car back together now and will need it soon.

firestarperformance.com is back up and running however you will not see thirdgen specific parts until further notice. I will not get into details to risk having this thread locked.
Will I ever make more thirdgen parts? Well I still sale the aluminum slave cylinder and ss braided line. It cost alot, but you get what you pay for.
Firestarperformance.com will also have a classified page you will see some parts on there later tonight.

I have been thinking alot lately about is making a new cover for my center console, all the wya up to the ac unit. it wouldlook nice if i was able to make one for the gauges as well, doesnt have to be as 3 dimensional as the one that is on there no, maybe flat. but the map holder and center console, mabye only cut out the shifter and leave the window switches and mirror direction setter, to be cut out by the buyer, i know i would like to slant mine and give it a lil styling. just an idea.
