Im fed up with all the problems Im having with my stupid car. It all relates back to the carb, so i found a way around it. I went out and bought a used edelbrock 1406 carb, and a performer rpm manifold! Yay. Now I just need to find a distributor to go with it when i swap it out. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I dont know much about distributors. I was just thinking like a simple vaccumm advance HEI? Any input would be amazing!

Simple vacuum advance HEI sounds great to me. You can get them cheap as hell all over Ebay and junkyards. Just get a stock one, throw a new cap, coil, rotor and maybe a diaphragm, module and recurve kit into it. Good as new.
