Hey guys, I've got a 1991 Camaro Z28 with new Bilstein struts (2 weeks old). I am planning on purchasing his fabricated upper strut mounts. I was wondering if he offers a lifetime warranty on this product or any of his other products as well. Thanks. Steve

All spohn products have a strong disclaimer that states there is no warranty expressed or implied. However, I have yet to get junk from them in the $4k plus I have spent with them, so pretty much buy at your own discretion.

iirc the fab mounts use a replaceable bearing that can be had pretty cheap

I guess I would want to know why do you need them? If you have not lowered your car or do not need the extra negative camber adjustment they allow just go with the stock ones.

IIRC, his strut mounts will not work with Bilstein struts. You may want to confirm this before spend $250+shipping.

The fab strut mounts work with all stock style struts. It is the coil over kit that doesn't work with the bilsteins.

Hey thanks, guys. I read his disclaimer and it says that his parts are not intended for street use. But I called him and he told me that is fabbed strut mounts can be used on the street. I'll call him again and find out if they'll work on the Bilsteins and if they will handle the stress of daily driving. Once again thank you for all of your feedback, I really appreciate it. Oh, by the way, is it true his facility or part of it burned down? Please let me know.

yeah you can use them ont he stree without a problem. I have and quite a few others have for a while now. Well part of the building that Steve is attached to err %50 of oit or so got burnt. Steve is in a old chemical storage part that is spererated by a breezeway and a few doors. He got lucky. lol.

steves parts are like the rest of the good aftermarket parts.

he cannot say there is a warranty, because people race with it and a decent percentage will do something stupid with the part...


he cannot say they are street legal, because of legal liability and they havent passed any kind of DOT or other testing....

so everything written will say "not intended for street use" however he might occasionally slipup and say on the phone that its "strong enough for street use" or something of that nature.


its just the aftermarket way of doing things.. not different then any other company.


i can say with spohns past history, they are one of the better companies.. if you did break one of his products within reasonable usage, and it broke in a way that was a failure of his workmanship, or design, he would most likely replace it with the only cost to you being the shipping... but thats not a written guarantee.

I guess everyone has a bad dealing with one company or another. I purchased a TA and T56 crossmember and asked if I would have any clearance issues with LT headers. They said "we do it all of the time" but whne I bolted it all up there was no friggin way you could put ant exhaust on the drivers side of the car unless I was driving a 4wd camaro. The workmanship was first rate but when I called back there to talk to them I must have got his dad or someone who didn't know what I was talking about. I was trying to describe some of the issues I was having and they told me it was not their stuff.

The other issue was fitment of the TA mount onto my 9" I could not even bolt the Spohn bracket to my 9" due to it hitting the floor so bad. Nothing a bit of cutting and welding could not fix. I ended up making a sheet metal part and boxing the floorpan around the TA mount. (the rear seat covers it anyway) I have read several other threads about this issue with cars that have a 9" or that have been lowered. My car is lowered 2" all the way around.

Overall I was very happy with the TA itself but them being upfront with issues that need to be addressed shows a first class business. For me fabrication is not a big deal and I would have probably purchased the stuff anyway but I should would not have spent the extra money to have it powder coated black if I knew it had to be reworked!

Just my two cents!!

I guess it is just one of my biggest pet peeves to have something miss represented!!!

there exists a spherical bearing upper strut mount, which has a lifetime warantee (including the bearing!)... I forget who makes it, I just read a post on it the other day here.... search for "home made upper strut mount", that's how I found the post.... (it gave me 6 results I think...)

not really.
i still dont think hes the best out there, i think most of his crap is too heavy, and i wont put any of his **** on my car...

but he does a decent job of supporting thoes that do buy from him.
