I have one on order. It has been on backorder for 5 weeks now. If it ever gets here, I will let you know if it works or not. Charles

Re: JET 700 R-4 Lockup Delay Module

Got it last week. Waited until it was in the car for a couple of days, before writing anything, just in case... The module plugged into the transmission, and the wiring harness plugged into the module. It took longer to drive the car up on the ramps, then to install the thing. It works fine. The transmission only locks up in 4th/overdrive, which works great for me as we live in the Smoky Mountains, and most of our driving is in the 30 to 40 MPH range on steep, winding mountain roads. The car is more responsive due to the increased engine RPM, and it has helped with operating tempature, as the engine is not lugging all the time. I took the car out on the interstate, and it shifted into overdrive, and locked-up like normal. During low speed driving the transmission used to constantly hunt for the correct gear, and was locking up and unlocking every few seconds. It would even downshift then upshift constantly, which made for a very uncomfortable ride. I tried to hold it in a lower gear, but that made the RPM too high. I know that the lock-up mode is supposed to decrease the operating tempature on the transmission, and thus wear, but it has to be better then continually shifting locking/unlocking, and lugging the engine. The car just feels better now. At 40 MPH in drive the RPM is 1900, so the engine has enough torque to pull most hills without changing gears. Locked up in drive the RPM used to be 1400, and even the slightest incline caused the transmission to start hunting a different gear. Even my wife noticed that the car is smoother running, and mentioned that it "does not jerk like it used to." Charles
