BMW E36 Headlights w/HID's (Included) Only $99.00
After reading through Ramair21's E36 headlight conversion thread, I noticed that there were comments made about the "Cost" of doing this modification. Yes, there were also comments made about the cutting and all the work involved,....but as we all know, if you want something bad enough, you have to be willing to sacrifice.
So, for those of you who like this modification enough to do the work, but don't want to shell out the $300 - $400 it cost on ebay or ???, there's a place you can buy the EURO Depo headlights (glass not plastic) with the 35W HID Kit included for only $99.00. - Plus, if you want "Angel Eyes" to go with them, it's only $60 more for the Thin ones, $75 for the Thick ones. You can also upgrade the 35W HID kit to the 55W Thin Ballast kit for only $10 more.
It's the same company that sells HID's for $29.95 - http://ddmtuning.com/product.php?II=135&parent=0
If you do want the Angel Eyes, they will install 'em and test them out for you at no additional cost before sending them to you. This is a very good price if you're interested in doing his mod!!!

How much modification is involved in doing this? IE what do you have to cut..
I was thinking of just doing these.

Or this.

What do you think is the better one?

To answer your second question, the first link you posted is just for a set of 4x6 housings w/halo rings and a pair of H4 bulbs. It NOTHING like the headlights I'm talking about. Plus it's not an HID setup.
As far as the second link goes, that IS an HID setup, but it doesn't include any headlight housings to put them in, and it only has a 2 year warranty. The HID's that you can buy from DDMtuning come with a Lifetime Warranty.
