i saw them in a kragen\oreilly auto parts ad. at first i was skeptical but when i went to the store i saw a huge section of just GM performance parts sockets, extensions, everything. i looked at them and they didnt feel very special. almost the same as the powerbuilt stuff kragen already carries, but im wondering if any of you guys have tried them out. i work at a dealership as a tech, so i normally have matco, snap on and craftsman stuff. i wouldnt wanna buy one of these just to have it snap on me or something. thanks

I have mostly matco, and some Cman hand tools. I have been thinking about buying some GM performance tools just to try them out, since they are very inexpensive, and they look pretty nice.
I'd also like to see some other peoples opinions of them before I spend any money on them though.

I bought a GM Goodwrench 1/2" breaker bar and long extention a couple years ago at O'reilly's and it's been a "Goodwrench" I use it everyday at work and often put all my weight on it.

the part that turned me away from buying those sockets on the spot was the big "made in taiwan" on the packaging. i might consider getting them as a backup set to keep at home or in the car

I sells these at oreilly daily. I I would rather use one of the gm rachets than a crappy craftsman rachet anyday. Ive replaced many craftman rachets due to the cheap gears.

i agree. craftsman ratchets are garbage. but if u buy the higher end craftsman professional or the evolve ones. theyre alot better. but if im shelling out over 30 bucks on a ratchet, id still rather get a matco one seeing as how i get a student discount. but im more interested to see how the GMPP sockets and extensions rate up against craftsman sockets and extensions

didn't know they made tools now.

i use a combination of matco, craftsman, cornwell, and snap on.

i really like matco. its cheaper than snap on, and sell basically almost the same product just slightly different. but the other day i dropped my matco 3/8 drive ratchet. i forget how many teeth it has but. its acted funny ever since

I bought my 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 snap on ratchets on ebay for 70 shipped. The 3/8 had a bad gear, the overpriced guy on the snap on truck fixed it for free. Anyway when I sell the Gm tools at work I take a phone number that way if it breaks we just give them a new one.

Theres a reason why Snap-On charges a mint for their tools: they stand behind their products 100% for the life of the tool. Hard to find that kind of quality or customer service.
