Cut to fit Carpet replacement at pepboys
I just saw some cut to fit carpet replacement from pep boys for 30 dollars. I'm wondering if it is any good. It's completely flat and comes in a roll. This stuff didn't look very pliable unless it can mold to the curves of the floor boards. I just have a feeling that one would get some ugly lumps unless a heat gun worked well with it. I believe the hawks carpet was only 100 dollars and seemed to already have the correct shape. 30 sounds nice if I can shape it myself though. Any opinions?

it might work in a minivan or something with a flat floor . i expect it might last less than a year . i say this because they sell a lot of cheap " Fecal Matter quality stuff " . i say unless you buy a brand name off the shelf from them "buyer beware" . good luck .

having used this stuff on the top of my sub box in my last camaro, its definitely not easy to work with. The backing is pretty thick and not very pliable. You're going to have a very hard time getting it to even remotely mold to the floor pan.

Well put, that is it.
Some times it's better to just pay the man and get it over with.
When I was reading the OP I was thinking about wrestling the back carpet in my convertible when I did the shocks over the summer. It still isn't in there right and it's easy to get to and relatively square. I couldn't imagine cutting it and trying to work in in the floor boards.

I've used the Pepboys carpet for sub boxes and it's ridiculously thin. I had a parts car that used it as carpet.. it does NOT hold up well to abuse. The parts car had a LOT of splits and splices to get it to mold to the contours of the floor, and a ton of adhesives to keep it in place.
