Alvin Clear Coat High Heat Automotive Spray Paint

Anyone use this paint from a spray can? Says 1200* heat protection without having to bake. The clear coat sounds perfect for rims. I'm going to try a can unless someone has had bad results.

All the high heat paints I have used do no require the bake for heat resistance but rather for chemical and abrasion resistance. I would be leery of any product that claims to not need the bake. Otherwise everything else would be doing it too.

Re: Alvin Clear Coat High Heat Automotive Spray Paint

Okay, Alvin paints never answered my emails so I forgot about them; however, at good old Walmart I eventually spotted a can of Rust-oleum Clear Engine Enamel (part number "248944 CLEAR" or bar code 0 20066 18658 6). The label says it's heat resistant to 500 degrees, is gas and oil resistant, and won't yellow. About $6 bucks.

Sounds like you're much farther down the road than me with clear coat type paints (any paint probably - lol!)... what paints do you recommend?
