1AAUTO hardtop weatherstriping review

I just had my 91 Camaro painted and purchased the complete weather strip kit from 1AAUTO. Here is a link to the kit I bought.

http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Weatherstri...SK00309/520644

I had the body shop install the weather stripping since they had to take the old stuff off anyway. The kit fit well with no issues. It took some time adjusting the seals to get them in exactly the right spot. Also had to adjust one window motor because the window was rolling up too far and pushing into the seal too much. The new weather stripping has been on the car for about a week now. The doors shut just a little harder than before but not bad at all.

The outer window sweeps sit nice and flat and all the holes lined up on my particular car, I read this had been a problem for some cars.

This was the cheapest full weather stripping kit I found, I was actually pleasantly surprised that it fits as well as it does. I had planned on buying GM seals but they are discontinued now and not every seal is available ...not to mention the price on the GM seals that are available is crazy high.

Re: 1AAUTO hardtop weatherstriping review

The trunk seal fits well, seems to be a little different width than the original but I'm not sure...I didn't save it to compare. The old seal may have just looked wider from being smashed for the past 22 years.

The inner window sweeps fit well too. The texture of the plastic is slightly different than the original. I took a picture of them side by side, hopefully the difference shows up in the picture. The 1aauto version has a slightly rougher texture, no big deal to me but for someone trying to do a 100% correct restoration it could be.

Overall I'm very happy with the quality and fitment especially for the price.

Thank you for your order. Do you have a full picture of your Camaro, it looks pretty nice.

Here are a couple pics of the car. First one is the only full pic of the car I have after its been painted. Not the best pic but should give you an idea. I have to wait another couple of weeks to let the paint fully cure before I put the heritage stripe decals on. I think the car actually looks pretty good with the blisters painted black without the stripes...better than expected. I'll take some good pictures once I get the stripes on and make a thread on the appearance board. 2nd pic was take last fall before it was painted.
